To be specific, they spend most of the money on medicines that are meant to prevent, cure and protect the public from various diseases. The primary reasons the developed countries and in a better position to afford these medicines is because they have other resources and projects that generate the national GDP. On the downside, research reveals that “It is estimated that one-third of the developing world's people is unable to receive or purchase essential medicines on a regular basis such as Africa and Asia” (University of Huddersfield). One of the most significant diseases claiming several lives in Africa and parts of Asia is Malaria. To be specific, research indicates that eighty-two percent of the total lives lost due to Malaria come from Africa. The main reason for a large number of deaths is essential because the countries cannot afford enough and effective antimalarial drugs. There are many reasons that could have led these countries to reach this current situation; reasons could be such as the country having the difficulty to afford the medication or have the education wise to use the medicine, on the other hand, US have both money and education to make and Offord these drugs. Therefore, the work outlines why underdeveloped countries can’t afford the essential medicines and who is responsible for finding the most amicable solutions to the issue. Discussion The most developed countries have the necessary resources that enable them to afford any medicine required in the health sector. One of these countries is the United Kingdom, whereby the government provides all types of medication. For instance, in the UK, you cannot hear cases where Malaria or any other disease leads to the death of the people. This is not because the region is Malaria-free but because all the necessary and effective antimalarial drugs are available. On the contrary, Syria is one of the countries similar to Africa that provision of medication is a great challenge. In Syria, cases of deaths due to diseases such as Malaria are very rampant. This is mainly because the facilities such as health centers are not yet developed. As well, the available facilities lack the necessary machines that are crucial in the treatment of diseases. Finally, the available health institutions lack skilled and competent health professionals such as doctors, physicians, and nurses. The situation in the developed countries such as the UK is notably different. They have all the necessary medicines, skilled personnel, machines, and enough health facilities (World Health Organization). Several solutions can be implemented to reach for amicable solutions in such situations. One of the most meaningful solutions is for the most developed and prosperous countries such as the United Kingdom to assist the underdeveloped countries in Syria, Africa, and other developing regions. This can be done by initiating programs of sponsorship or donors. As well, during outbreaks such as Malaria, Typhoid or other diseases these wealthy nations can donate the most effective medicines to help the developing nations. The second most imperative solution is for the developed countries to educate the countries without such education. For instance, there are several medical research and development institutions in the UK and the United States of America. These institutions should also sponsor health professionals such as doctors and nurses from the developing countries in Syria and Africa. Another way to achieve this is to send researchers from these institutions to developing nations to assist them to understand the need for research and development in the health sector (Tung 3). The final solution is to reduce the prices of medicine that are sold to the developing countries. The most developed nations such as the United States of America and the United Kingdom should understand the situation of the people living in areas such as Syria. Individuals in these places hardly afford food so selling them very expensive medicine will be a nightmare to them. As such, it is profound that the medicine is sold at relatively subsidized prices that will be affordable to the developing countries. Several institutions can be blamed for this situation. One of the most significant institutions is the government. The government should prioritize in the fight against diseases in their projects. One way of doing this is to allocate more resources to the health sector. Such funds should be used to buy medicines and build more advanced health facilities. As well, the government is responsible for seeking donations from the developed nations. The government officials should express their needs for medicines especially during outbreaks such as waterborne disease. The Good Samaritan nations will be able to help them (NACB). Furthermore, the education ministry is blamed for not educating the people to make. One challenge with the developing nations is that they lack the skilled and competent health professionals. These are the people that are supposed to engage in in-depth research and development to come up with cheap and efficient medicine. However, there is a severe deficiency for such individuals. Therefore, there is a substantially need for the education sector to benchmark what the developed nations are doing to realize success. As such, they will be in a better position to produce competent and qualified health professionals such as doctors and nurses. The final party to be blamed in such situations is the nations that manufacture and sell the drugs. These nations such as the United States of America should consider that some nations are living below the poverty line. This means that they need assistance on various issues. If they rarely afford what to eat, then they will hardly afford expensive medicine. Thus, they should ensure that the prices of medicine are substantially subsidized especially for the underdeveloped countries (Whitehead 834). Conclusion In conclusion, it is imperative to note that several lives are lost in the developing countries primarily because these countries cannot afford medicines. For instance, several lives are lost in Syria while the health situation is excellent in the developed countries such as the United Kingdom. However, there are three groups of institutions that are blamed for this situation. One of the most significant is the government since they are supposed to prioritize on health and related strategies. As well, they should seek for assistance in the developed countries if they are not in a position to afford the necessary medicine, especially during disease outbreaks. The education ministry is also responsible since they fail to provide quality training and education to health professionals. That is the main reason there is a severe deficiency of health practitioners in the developing countries (Lee & Anne 775). Finally, the countries selling the drugs are blamed for escalating drug prices. They are supposed to ensure that the drugs are sold cheaply to the nations that cannot be a position to afford them. One of the most recommended solutions is to have prices varying from one country to another such that the developing nations purchase these drugs at the lowest possible prices. Lastly, my opinion is that all people across the globe deserve better healthcare whether they come from poor or rich countries. Therefore, all the mechanisms and strategies that ensure that people are not lost due to the lack of drugs are completely avoided.
