Public Health and National Prevention Effort al Affiliation With the passage of time an increase in the number of ‘public health issues’ has been measured and calculated. This increase may lead a community towards havoc and destruction. Therefore prevention measures are being taken to safeguard the public health and to eliminate diseases. Also to create awareness and promote information regarding different health measures, agencies are starting to take action. These agencies are of many types and subtypes and play a vital role in making a community stable socially, economically, environmentally and politically. Also a large number of programs are being launched by these departments to bring awareness in all aspects of people’s lives from education to health and from politics to private affairs. Hence, these agencies are adopting and establishing new and reformed health related policies and measures to ensure public health and safety. \ Public Health and National Prevention Effort It is believed that bringing awareness in any society requires three basic steps, namely; preventing, prolonging and promoting. These three steps are importantly necessary for making a community grasp awareness socially, economically, environmentally, politically and most importantly to grip health awareness. Therefore, to study health awareness it is essential to characterize the term ‘public health’. Marianne R. Woodside and Tricia McClam (2011) have verified “We can approach the definition of public health in three ways. The first approach is to define it by examining its historical development, achievement and health success”. From the above provided approach we can deem that public health is the discipline of guarding and perking up the health of different communities or populations with the help of education and remedial measures. Public health professionals are people who work progressively to help any community, let it be as small as confined regions or as big as an intact kingdom. This is why public health is related to the prevention of problems from taking place or re occurring. These problems can be related to instructive line ups, rising health policies, managing services, modifying health services and investigation. There are a large number of institutions that might be mulled over as agencies, a component of a by and large countrywide prevention effort. These institutions include Federal agencies, State agencies and such miscellaneous organizations and sites that play a vital role in promoting and establishing a balance in the health sector. Before the details and essential elements of these agencies are thrashed out, we ought to be acquainted with the meaning of ‘prevention efforts’. According to Yves Beigbeder (2004), “They authorize and control complementary private sector health institutions and insurance schemes”. What is prevention? The numbers of descriptions for this expression are never-ending but to be specific and concise this term can be defined as “the process of avoiding and deterring any anti social episode with reference to its effects and causes on the community’s health or steadiness is called prevention” Hence, ‘prevention efforts’ are such an exertion which is made in the path of the above provided process, so that a community may remain balanced in all its aspects which include education, health, awareness, economy and social interaction. Robert K. Conyne (2010) quotes John Fung‘s words “The superior healer is one who can successfully check diseases before they develop”. So, it is about time that we acknowledge the description of what ‘prevention efforts’ really are. The most imperative question that now crops up is ‘Can we identify the elements required for health related efforts?’ When progressed and spread an enormous amount of rudiments will come up with reference to this issue. Some chief fundamentals that should be embraced in an accumulation of health-related efforts are given below. Public private joint efforts in the following fields are essential other than direct health care service. Why so? Even though this part is one of perplexity as it vexes the complete social set up, yet it is vital. Because unless the people of a community will not participate in the activity of keeping the surrounding disease free and changing the environment for a better cause, the idea of health prevention efforts is equal to beating the air. Given below are the central building blocks of health-related attempts: 1. Ministry of Environment: This organizational set up plays an extremely important role in the health-related efforts department, as it keeps a vigilant check to prevent and control problems like noise pollution, water pollution, sound pollution, species distinction, air pollution, deforestation and many other issues. This department is an important part because it also helps in creating awareness regarding the above mentioned crisis. 2. Ministry of Education: This department or agency educates every possible individual of the provided community and social set up and brings itself up as an essential part of the health related efforts. Through campaigns, advertisements and awareness programs and curriculums this agency makes every effort to eliminate problems like poverty, illiteracy and population explosion. 3. Ministry of Food and Agriculture: This agency also is an important component of the health related effort’s zone as it makes sure that problems like food adulteration and lack of wholesome food are eliminated. 4. Law Ministry: Law ministry is an extremely vital part of the compilation of health related efforts as it makes sure that every law that establishes health and safety measures and eliminates corruption is implemented. The above given and many other stake holders in the country can be considered a part of the collection of health related measures due their obligatory and voluntary duties. These institutions can further enhance their role in the process of public health prevention by including health prevention programs into their awareness projects. On the basis of the information of the before mentioned agencies and organizations which are considered a part of an overall national prevention effort, programs which would help include; environmental control programs to bring a close the processes of deforestation and pollution, enforcement of rules and regulations to prevent minor traffic accident and adulteration of food, supply of wholesome raw material to eliminate the problem of malnutrition and starvation. Immunization of milch animals; to prevent diseases transferred from poultry animals to human beings when they are consumed. Health awareness programs to re-construct the conscious of the people of a community. Ban on expired medicine; which are imported and used in under developed countries. The reasons behind the above mentioned programs are that these preventative activities would for sure be a source of health education and its promotion, early diagnosis and prompt treatment of diseases, physical and social rehabilitation of inflicted community. Being given the task of quantifying the scope of public health sector, identified agencies would include; Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Resources, Education and Pollution Control Boards. Even though all of them are equally important but the ones left out from the list would somehow be considered as sub agencies of the chosen ones. As it is truly said by Durant Drake (2005) “Health is in itself a great contribution to the intrinsic worth of life”. References Beigbeder, Y. (2004).
