The ethnicity was however well balanced among Asians, Latinos and Caucasians. There was also a balanced representation of undergraduates as there were for graduate students. Greater percentage of the college of study was however imbalanced in favor of HHS. In the opinion of Caesey (2008), when testing hypothesis on variables that have to do with the physical activities of people, it is always important to spread the scope of reach of respondents so that the case study can best be described as a generalized one.

This of course was achieved from the results on sample characteristics. Statistical Analyses Statistically, the mean differentials recorded on the sleeping time for males and females have a perfect correlation with their rigorous physical activities. The mean difference in both instances was quoted as -11483. The standardized co-efficient for Moderate and Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) was also quoted as -.125 for both sexes. Inferably, noting that greater percentage of the respondents was involved in a couple of physical activities such as aerobics, cycling and weight lifting for periods of more than 10 minutes in a week, there was a corresponding effect on their sleeping habit.

For example the mean shows greater percentage of respondents expressing good and sound night sleep as against sleeping during any other time of the day. Again, the effect of physical activity on sleep was evident with respect to the sleeping trend on weekday and weekends. Generally, a lot of the respondents have enough time to be involved in practical exercises during weekends. Reflectively, it is during weekends that prolonged sleeping is experienced. Finally, the statistics show that during days when rigorous activities take place, respondents sleep quite easily as compared to days when no physical activities are performed.

Discussion Summary of findings in non-statistical terms The findings may be summarized as that the type of physical activities that one involves him or her self in and the duration of the exercise has a lot of influence on the sleeping pattern of the person. In the first place, exercises or physical activities aids in the relaxation of the body muscles (Alpha, 2005). This way, sleep is well enhanced because it takes the body very little effort to fall asleep. Physical activities are therefore a basis for achieving effortless sleep.

Since the body muscles get relaxed even before sleep, it equally takes a longer period for the muscles to feel stretched again and so the tendency of sleeping for very long after a vigorous activity is also very high (Antonio, 2011). Interpretation of findings In the review of literature, Wolfson, et al, 2003 established the need for students to have very good sleep for their academic undertakings. This assertion is indeed reflected in the study that was conducted. The findings of the study can be interpreted in terms of how students can best achieve sound sleep to activate their mental consciousness for an active academic life.

The literature showed that when the mind is tired, it barely concentrates in a learning process (IPN, 2011). This therefore calls for students to practice active daily body exercise in order to achieve sound sleep to subsequently achieve an active academic lifestyle. Limitations The research work was mainly restricted by time. Because this was an academic exercise, the researcher had to undertake the research work together with other
