This essay will focus and discuss the environmental challenges in China, the causes and how environmental pollution affects the people1.
In my research, the weather has appeared to be the main cause of flooding in China. People in China happen to prefer flooding areas without considering the negative effects that floods have in their lives. Hence, it happens that the areas that experience floods are the most populated areas in the country. The high populations in such areas increase the ability of the areas to be struck by floods. Crowded areas have increased surface run-off that flows into the rivers causing the breaking of their banks, hence flooding. Places with high populations need to be watched carefully to ensure that help always give whenever it is needed.2 Floods have a lot of negative effects on the lives of the people.
According to research, the air pollution in China has been considered to be one of the worst. The increased air pollution in China has caused the big population of China several respiratory diseases. Women suffer the biggest effects of the pollution having biggest numbers of lung cancer.3In most cases, it happens to women who live near industrialized areas. The increased air pollution in China is caused by mostly its increased production activities of their industries. During the production, the industries emit smoke that has sulfur dioxide in the air which is harmful to the human body when inhaled. China also relies heavily on coal for their energy production. This also has played a big part in the polluting of air in China. The combustion of coal sends some unwanted gasses and smoke into the air and smoke that may lead to the greenhouse effect apart from air pollution3.Manufacturing industries and cars also play a major role in the pollution of air in China. The atmosphere around us is made up of various different gases which have been mixed by nature in specific ratios to create a dynamic natural gaseous system which possesses the various vital characteristics necessary to support life on Earth. The disturbances created in the composition and physical characteristics of the atmospheric air by various air pollutants causes various threats to human health and the ecosystem.
National programmers have predicted that this emerging trend may lead to a pension payment problem for the Chinese state and may reduce the China’s ability to compete in the world market in few days to come (England 2). The prediction is that the same trend will definitely lead to creation of growing demand for the health care products and nutritional services in China.
Annual growth rate of the country has expanded since the second quarter of 2012. At present the growth rate of China is 7.5 percent, which is quite high compared to the growth rates of the developed economies in the world in the post recession times (“China GDP Annual Growth Rate”).
Toxic gases, solid wastes and chemical filled waste water are some of the pollutants that are most common in the world today (Nemerow, 1995).
There are different types of environmental pollutants and different methods are required
The main idea of this research paper is that noise pollution is a short-lived or transient problem unlike other forms of environmental pollution. Therefore, once the sound generation is stopped, the problem is solved. The main objective behind the solution is to cancel the source from the human residential environment.
Air pollution is measured in terms of the different pollutants that exist in different parts of the world. For example: the EPA which is an organization that monitors the air in the region of United States measures air pollution in regards to the prevalence of six common pollutants in different regions of United States (Epa.gov, 2014).

This research will begin with the statement that China’s population has been on a decline in the present past. It has a population growth rate of 0.47% ranking it 159th in the world statistics. Although China has registered the largest population in the world, its growth rate has been on a downward movement recording rates lower than countries such as the United States.
