Resume Statement from Accounting Information System Skills To work in an organization where I can use the knowledge and skills learned in the accounting information system including communication skills, business process architectural skills, and electronic business skills, financial and accounting skills (Hall, 2011, p. 103). The courses have enabled me to understand the enterprise recourse planning systems, and general ledger processes which are vital in payment process and payroll preparations. Additionally, I wish to work in a vibrant organization where I will utilise the enterprise risk management skills, problem solving skills which I gained through solving various assignments in the accounting information system classes. Moreover, the knowledge enhanced my social responsibilities through the various ethical frameworks I learnt in the accounting information systems classes (Worrell et al., 2013, p. 129). The enterprise risk management skills include management of information systems and business operations as well as systems development and database management. The experience from the various management classes in accounting information systems enabled me to understand the governance of information technology enables projects in order to achieve excellent performances in an organization (Tavani, 2007, 23). For example, COBIT 5 helps in proper management of IT enabled projects which are important in increasing company performance. The practical skills enable be to be in a better position to spearhead and plan the financial activities in an organization. In addition, the skills are useful in organizing and coordination of financial audits in my business organizations. The excellent coordination and organizational skills in information systems enable me to have a strong foundation in the control of event processing, business control and operations as well as making influence management decisions. This is through knowledge gained during business reporting process and enterprises system classes which offered me the foundation knowledge in business reporting tools. 2. Translating Accounting information system Skills into Careers The knowledge and practices, which are gained in the accounting information systems, can be used in various companies such as consulting firms, insurance companies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, government agencies and other account related careers in the business world. The individuals with accounting information system knowledge a practice are able to manage businesses and hold influential management and control position in order to manage business operations and govern projects related to information technology and accounts (Wetfeet, 2008, p. 14). Banking Industry The business process, operation skills, enterprise risk management skills and electronic business skills in accounting information system are crucial in the banking industry (Hall, 2011, p. 148) Bank managers, system analysis, marketing in the banking industry require accounting skills in order to perform their duties. The accounting information system can be translated into careers in the banking sectors. The governance of information system, which is learnt in the enterprise and e-business materials and practical skills, is useful in governing the important customer information in the banking industry. This means that the ERP system skills, COSO skills are useful in business control mechanisms (Baltzan et al., 2013, p. 47). The bank manager is required to have skills in managing information systems for all customers in the bank (Worrell et al., 2013, p. 132). In addition, bank managers should be able to use information technology to manage the employee’s data and operations. The integration of accounting information technology in e-business haw allows banks in various parts of the world to transact their business online. The knowledge and practice gained in the maintenance of information databases can be employed in the maintenance of client accounts in banking careers. This is where bank managers and banking staffs are able to maintain online databases using the knowledge and skills from the accounting materials and practices. The accounting information systems educate individuals with the knowledge in preparing financial statements, which are useful in the management of financial statements of account holders in a bank. This requires good management of information systems and accountancy which will enhance proper management of account records. The management of information system utilises the ERP system skills as well as the business reporting processes learnt in practical skills. In general, the accounting skills learned in the accounting information system is necessary in developing careers in the banking sector. Accountants and System Auditors The accounting information system knowledge gained is helpful in all accounting carers including financial managers, accountants, system auditors and financial controller. This is important since system auditors depend on these individual it audits the performance of an accounting information system. Accounting information systems equip an individual with data processing skills, control of information systems, and security of corporate data, information integrity and maintenance as well as the general operation of the accounting information systems. These skills are vital in the system auditing hence accounting information system is vital for careers in system auditing. The auditors also help in the evaluation of existing systems and establish its effectiveness in maintaining information integrity and security. Additionally, these system auditors may also recommend for changes in the new accounting information systems. This is possible through problem solving skills that are learnt through the practices in the control skills. The reporting in accounting information systems is crucial in careers such as system auditing. It is essential for individuals in system auditing to have knowledge in finance and management, pre-law and marketing which is offered in accounting information system. The knowledge of business process architecture is crucial in ensuring that managers in digital systems and auditors are able to develop software and integrate business process in ensuring information security and integrity (Hall & Singleton, 2005, p. 35). Marketing, Media and Advertising The materials and skills learnt in enterprise risk management equip an individual with the business framework skills, enterprise systems skills and knowledge as well as electronic business skills. Individuals in marketing and advertising require knowledge of the market and consumer preferences. With the increased level of technology, most businesses are marketing their products and services in the social media such as Twitter and Facebook. The use of electronic business makes it possible for marketers and promoters understand the various online and electronic business models (Baltzan et al., 2013, p. 58). Accounting information systems enables marketers to understand the various electronic business strategies that are crucial in ensuring business to customer, business to business, customer to the customer and customer to business approaches in the online business. In addition, government employees who are responsible for ensuring efficient delivery of services can employ the knowledge in electronic commerce learned in the practical skill of accounting information systems to improve the delivery of government services and improve government and citizen interactions. Accounting skills such as development of marketing tools, understanding information technology and web development and governance of information technology projects are crucial for careers such as digital marketing managers. Software Developer Accounting information systems equip an individual with knowledge and skills which are crucial for careers in software and system development. Skills include in the areas of database, networking, communication infrastructure, and applications. The accounting information systems allow an individual to gain practical skills in information technology control systems which is crucial in software development (Tavani, 2007, p. 97). This is because there is the need to develop software which is controlled at different levels in the organization in order to achieve the desired results from the developed software. Additionally, the skills are useful in the development of graphic design used in the company as well as web pages, which contain various companies’ information (Davis et al., 2007, p. 26). The knowledge in problem solving learnt of the practical skills in accounting information systems is essential in trouble shooting various technological devices and applications that are used in an organization. Students who have this knowledge can apply it in software development and troubleshooting of equipment such as personal computers in an organization (Ahmed, 2008, p. 982). Consultants in Accounting Information System The knowledge and skills acquire from the accounting information system can be used in offering consultancy services. These consultants should be able to offer information of accounting auditing, financial statements, electronic business, business operations and enterprise risk management (Hall & Singleton, 2005, p. 45). The consultants should also be able to have the skills in accounting information system trends on new systems and techniques. Therefore, accounting knowledge can be offered to other firms in terms of management advice and ideas. The auditing, business, business operations and management practices in accounting information systems form the careers in system analysts and accounting consultants. 3. Role Play Scenario In this section I describe enterprise system planning system role play scenario using the enterprise resource planning skills acquired in the accounting class. The accounting information system equipped me with the skills inn managing supply chains of the organization using the skills in enterprise resource planning and business processing skills (Tavani, H. 2007, p. 123). The COSO practical silks are crucial in controlling and monitoring of business process in the organization. The accounting skills I learnt are crucial in integrating the ERP and information system management in controlling the supply chain for the company. This is through the use of information systems that are controlled and monitored. The business reporting tools and practical skills learnt in the accounting class is crucial in managing online business financial statements and supply chains (Worrell et al., 134). Additionally, the business operation knowledge from the accounting information system class is useful in establishing the financial statements and their relationships with the auditing roles in an organization. In the class, I also learned ways in controlling financial accounting systems an evaluation of these systems to ensure that they function properly (Kelleher and Wagener, 2011, p. 812). This is essential in making sure that accounting information systems are working properly and monitored using the appropriate enterprise system. Moreover, the COBIT 5 skills enable me to be having a better understand ding of enterprise system and business information technology management. Therefore, the ERP system skills in accounting and information system gave me experiences in management of supply chains in the company as well as planning the information system for the organization (Hall & Singleton, 2005, p. 131).
