In this paper the various literatures concerning the impact of foreign bank entry has been explored vastly analyzing every step effect to the local market of the host country and parent branch of the bank. Efficiency, competition, contagion and diversification have all been reviewed to try and bring a clear picture of the impact of the foreign bank entry. The impact of foreign bank entry has been explored as far as United Arab Emirates is concerned. The paper has provided an insight into the impact on the banking sector following foreign bank entry.
