’, this study revealed that the decision of Bill Gates to focus on developing useful software (i.e. Microsoft Office, MS-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) triggered the success and triumph of this company. By not spending much money in the development of computer hardware, Microsoft was able to easily enter into a business partnership with other companies like IBM as part of making its software products widely accepted by the end-consumers. Despite the ability of Microsoft to dominate the personal computer industry, the primary research findings revealed that there are some IT experts who are not satisfied with the security and software quality offered by Microsoft as compared to other software manufacturers like Mac.
To preserve Microsoft’s position as one of the world’s widely known software developer, this study strongly suggest the need on the part of Microsoft personnel to focus on solving security problems among others.
