Health, vulnerability disparity and equity; vulnerable population There is growing necessity to develop a clear understanding of factors that make a certain population vulnerable to disasters. These factors are social, economic and physical as determinants of health (Lindsay 291-304).Discussion questions are;Discuss why different social groups have different degrees of disaster vulnerability.Discuss the connection between determinants of health and principles of upholding mitigationDiscuss the potential of determinants of health to act as indicators of health.

The main issue discussed is social vulnerability. It explores on what can be done to reduce or change vulnerabilities and capacity building. It explains that social factors require much effort from the society and disaster managers to come up with social solutions (Phillips, Thomas, Fothergill, and Pike 27-367).Discussion questions are;Discuss on, the social groups vulnerable to disaster than others in your community. Giving reasons why they are vulnerable.Discuss on, developing recovery effort using dominant and vulnerability perspectivesDiscuss how disaster exerts should approach warning and evacuation using vulnerability and dominant perspectives.
