What Does The Walt Disney Company Do Relate To Anthropocene, Environment And Ecosystem? Introduction The different activities that the Walt Disney company engages in have developed to consolidate their income generating activities towards the involvement of other natural environment protection aspects that range from the prevention of animal extinctions, environmental conservation, ecosystem maintenance, climate change aspects sensitivity and the sensitization of the masses. Through the different programs that the company has developed, these actions have proven possible and easy to enforce. Considering the different anthropocenic aspects that have indicated the actions of man from the time of earlier development to late on the environment, the company Walt Disney has focused some of their returns and activities to promote environmental conservation aspects. The study focuses on the different contributions that the company has made to this regard. Based on this, the thesis of the study is the fact that the Walt Disney Company does not only concern on their financial aspects that focus on their profits and business development, but also the different environmental concerns. As such, it considers all anthropocenic aspects that have generated different environmental effects leading to extinction of other species and a negative effect to the environment. The need to improve the environment and control the effects of the actions of people in relation to the environment and ecosystem has led to the enforcement of efforts in environmental protection and control of the ecosystem and the effects it suffers. Relating these actions and programs that Walt Disney’s Company has developed in conjunction to fighting environmental degradation and protection of the ecosystem and its improvement, the company is considered an environmental advocate. The DWCF program refers to the program that the company has put in place to develop and encourage the people in different environments to preserve the environmental and actively engage in environmental protection activities. The program does a number of activities that ranges from the rewarding of the different actions that people contribute to the environmental protection aspects to actively ensuring that all their developments are related to environmental protection and protection of the ecosystem. The company has programs that reward those that promote and actively engage in environmental programs. The company has considered using their returns to encourage the development of environmental development. The company also actively participates in Corporate Social Responsibilities majorly related to the improvement of the actions of man on saving the environment. Through the DWCF, developments of the programs that attach people in environmental aspects include the aspects that connect to the goals of the company in environmental protection through Disney Citizenship. The development of integrity and quality of works in entertainment, inspiring others towards their participation into the ecosystem protection activities has played a role in motivating other companies in leading into improved environmental actions. Through this, the company has promoted the integral responsibility that has in part contributed to the building of the brand. Through the citizenship aspect, the company connects with the consumers and attracts good human resource power that contributes positively to the company’s business. The scarcity faced in the natural resources all poses a major threat to the ecosystem that needs refining. The pre-critical factors consider the concentration of profitable companies in protecting and preserving the humans as a critical part of the environment and the ecosystem (Ehrenfeld, p.10). The profitability of Disney Company has aided it in the development of measures that protect both the human species and the other species. The environment comes among the most considerations that the company focuses on and these have contributed massively for the connection that the human species and the other species especially those that face extinction threats as a forward thinking aspect (Morton, p.98). The company has developed programs that ensure that the flora and fauna covers of the world are protected and the company contributes finances, human resources and other resources in developing their Corporate Social Responsibilities. The Corporate Social Responsibilities have contributed much to the protection and encouragement of the human species and the different conservation programs have protected the different species. The contributions that the company has enforced in to the protection of the endangered species and supporting the national parks in addition to developing some have played a role in environmental protection. The profitability of the company has made it effective in managing different environmental efforts. Concentration in the business nature of the company and its investment in different programs that promote and protect the environment have all relied heavily on the profits that the company makes. The company also develops its movie contents on nature and thus promoting these environmental efforts through their works. This creates a relationship that builds the company’s reputation improving their business and at the same time creating profits that, the company gives back to the community through environmental protection.
