Extract of sample "Problems Associated with Fire in Modern Automobiles"

Barnett (2004) informs that the vapors from gasoline are highly flammable due to which, there are fair chances of ignition in case of heating up of the automobile. The gasoline is highly flammable due to which, a tiny leak in the gasoline tank can spread fire and blast the whole vehicle (Barnett, 2004). The problem, in this case, is that gasoline that is used in modern automobiles keeps the capacity of spreading fire at a higher rate. Like gasoline, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and hydraulic ride fluid are also flammable liquids and can become a reason for fire spread or putting the automobile on fire.

Brake fluid ignites automatically when it comes in contact with a hot exhaust (Barnett, 2004). Likewise, coolant also auto ignites when it is brought in close contact with hot exhaust. The engine oil is also flammable but a large quantity of engine oil is required to start the fire. The small amount of engine oil will not become a reason for fire spread. Fuel injection, air filters, and windshield washing fluid are also flammable and can aid fire and can also become a reason for an explosion (Barnett, 2004).

Modern automobiles carry a number of flammable liquids that can become a reason for fire if any leakage is there.
