The important factors that are considered in automobile manufacturing are the durability, sustainability and the economic value of the vehicle. Modern vehicles are made to save a lot of gas and give better performance as compared to the previous versions. However, luxury and comfort are not compromised. Utilizing the alternate, cheaper and durable materials will reduce the price of the car, give more efficiency and will have more life as compared to the older versions. Thus, there is need to think differently and utilize the materials that are more environment friendly. Automobile Frame An automobile frame is like a skeleton in human body. A stiffer frame lasts longer and, thus, the age of the vehicle depends on the material utilized in the vehicle frame, shape of the frame, etc. The largest weighted component that a frame is to hold is the engine of the vehicle. Thus, the engine compartment should be cared a lot in the frame manufacturing stage. Design Parameters The design parameters of an automobile frame are the size of the vehicle. The major design frames parameters of an automobile frame are size of the vehicle, design of the vehicle, purpose of the automobile, safety and efficiency of the vehicle. Size of vehicle The size of the vehicle impacts the frame of the vehicle. Larger the size of the vehicle, larger will be the fame of the vehicle. The size may increase the weight of the frame and, thus, it has a large impact on the efficiency of the vehicle. The size of the frame is considered to impact the inner space of the vehicle, weight carrying capacity of the vehicle, size and capacity of the engine and seating capacity of the vehicle. Design of vehicle The design of the vehicle impacts the frame of the vehicle. Sometime, the design of the vehicle and the frame are not matched, which impacts the balance of the vehicle and, thus, impacts the efficiency of the vehicle (, 2012). The design of the vehicle and the frame requirements should be matched according to the vehicle specifications. Safety One of the major aims of the frame is to provide safety for the internal as well as external components and to ensure the safety of the driver and the other passengers or the carriage. The new space frame technology employed by the Audi Company makes the frame of the vehicle so strong and rigid, that it nearly impossible to break or split the frame of the vehicle (, 2012). This helps is protecting the drivers and the passengers to survive in a harsh accident. Efficiency of vehicle Frame directly or indirectly impacts the efficiency of the vehicle. The lighter the frame of the vehicle, the less fuel will be consumed by the engine to bear the load of the frame. Thus, it is important to utilize such material that makes the frame lighter but still rigid and strong. On the other hand, it must bear a lot of stress (, 2012). The design of the frame also has a high impact on the efficiency of the car. The frame should be more aerodynamic.
