Introduction This section gives the findings of the study according the research questions. The three research questions are: what was the perception of students on the use of e-learning at KSU; how was English language being integrated in e-learning and what were the means that were used in controlling the different aspects of e-learning that were found in the institution The respondents were asked to respond to various questions that would give out the perception towards e-learning. For the first research question the respondents were asked their opinion on whether e-learning was of any benefit in their learning process and how e-learning compared with face-to-face mode of teaching. The second question to the respondents was why they were using e-learning. The respondents were asked about their awareness of e-learning before enrolling in the institution, their level of use of computer technology, their experience in the use of e-learning and if they could recommend e-learning to other student. This section also gives the response given by the respondents when they were asked to give the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. The analysis gives the relationship between the variables. Understanding of e-learning and its benefits When the respondents were asked to respond to the statement “I think e-learning is learning that is delivered through electronic means” the response was as in Figure 1. From the figure it can be seen that most of the respondents were in agreement with the statement with 48.65% indicating that they agree while 27.03 % indicated that they strongly agreed. This can be seen to be an indication that the majority of respondents understand what e-learning is. It can be seen also that 11.9% of the respondents neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement, 9.73% disagreed while 2.70% disagreed strongly. This is an indication that there are a few who could who had a different understanding of what e-learning. Figure 1: Response to definition of e-learning When the respondents were asked about if e-learning was beneficial to their learning the response was as in figure 2. From the figure it can be seen that 43.89% agreed that e-learning was beneficial to their learning while 37.22% strongly agreed that e-learning was beneficial to their learning. From the graph it can also be observed that 6.11% disagreed while 1.11% strongly disagreed. This is seen as an indication that most of the respondents have understanding on how electronic technology can be used in their learning process. Figure 2: E-learning beneficial results E-learning and face to face learning The opinion of the respondents was sought on the comparison of e-learning and face to face learning. This was done by requesting the respondents to respond to the statement, “e-learning was more effective than face to face learning and the response was as seen in Figure 3. The majority of the respondents were in agreement that e-learning was more effective than face to face learning as can be seen from the percentage that agreed and strongly agreed. There is also a substantial fraction of the respondents who were undecided on whether e-learning was more effective than face to face learning as 31.28% of the respondents neither agreed nor agreed. Those who indicated that they disagreed were 8.38% while those who strongly disagreed were 4.47%. This could be taken to be an indication that there are some unique benefits of face to face learning which cannot be replaced by e-learning.
