It will not be incorrect to state that the definition to art as given by the author is intriguing because it frees the concept from aesthetics which are too narrow. The readers can surely find out that art is a way to freely express what is around as an environment. The institutions, that provide a level to bring rules in an individual life, religion etc. is able to submerge in arts because they have been a code of conduct for humans. Anything that is reflective of human experiences presents a clear picture which is referred to as art.

This manner of explaining art has left me understands it from a neutral point of view (Dissanayake, Art and Intimacy: How the Arts Began).
