The graduate analyst job offered by Metapraxis Company has been chosen for this assignment. This is a management consultancy and software company mainly focusing on the visualisation of business performance. Metapraxis offers clients programs in performance visualisation as well as interactive visual planning. The company seeks to recruit graduates who have a true passion for business. Among the responsibilities associated with this job include: undertaking project work for clients, offering client support and promoting relationships with major stakeholders. As a graduate analyst, one is required to work with clients from a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, financial services and consumer goods. The company is thus looking for individuals who will help senior managers derive solutions to some of the biggest problems in the business world. Candidates for the job will be offered an induction program by the company, after which they immediately start to work on client projects. The start date has been scheduled for September this year.

I feel best suited for the job for several reasons. First, I am an outgoing person interested in making new friends. Throughout my life, I have interacted with different groups of people, and this has enabled me develop an understanding of the different personalities and how to deal with them. I believe this is an important trait for the job because it will aid in the development of lasting relationships with clients. I will be in a good position to handle clients in a friendly yet professional manner. Secondly, Metapraxis extensively employs the use of modern technologies and software in offering solutions to clients. Through my personal and academic life, I have on many occasions interacted with some of these techniques, and this gives me an upper hand. More importantly, I enjoy working with and learning new technologies and am therefore prepared to work with the staff at Metapraxis in learning more about their technologies and software. I have been a strong believer in using technology to change the world, and the opportunity presented by Metapraxis helps me put this belief into practice. Third, the environment at Metapraxis requires people who can deliver results under pressure within a short period of time. Personally, I have previously worked in almost similar environments, and I, therefore, understand how to deliver under somewhat stressful conditions. I understand that working with different clients demands a clear understanding of priorities in order to serve clients equitably and effectively. This has made me understand the pressure that comes with working in such environments. Finally, my academic background has equipped me with the knowledge necessary to carry out the duties of the job. My strong foundation in management is what is exactly needed for the job. As an analyst, I will apply my theoretical knowledge to solve problems and help in the growth and development of the company. Being a willing learner, I will use the knowledge I have already acquired as a foundation to improve myself and better suit myself to the specific job demands.

Academic /personal development in year three

During my third year of study, I made considerable progress in my academic, professional and personal development. Studying international human resource management and marketing strategy was an important step in my academic development. This exposed me to past and present practices in marketing and human resource management. I have developed the needed skills that will enable me work in wide range of organisations at an international level. In the modern global market, all organizations are linked and are thus affected by factors at both local and international levels. Before taking this class, I had little knowledge on how cultures and legislations affect the day-to-day running of an organization. Taking this class has however made me view organisations from an international angle, thereby understanding how various internal and external factors affect operations. I am confident that I have skills that can help organisations achieve their set targets. By studying marketing strategy, I am in a good position to help the organization achieve both short term and long term marketing objectives to maximise returns. With this knowledge, I am eager to put everything into practice in order to solve real problems in organisations.

I have also had the opportunity to work with fellow students in groups on various class assignments and tasks. This has also been of great importance in my development. By interacting with students and members of the faculty, I have learnt how to work in teams, a trait that is important for my future academic and career life. In some instances, I have assumed leadership duties, and this has been a great experience. I now understand what leadership is and the strategies for effective leadership. More importantly, I have enhanced my communication skills. In future, these skills will be of great importance. Furthermore, the knowledge I have been able to acquire from other students has been great. Not only have learnt the importance of listening but also understood why sharing of knowledge is important in promoting learning. The relationships developed with other students through these interactions have been unbelievable.

Finally, during year three, I learnt about essay writing and the tips of producing a good essay. This has made me improve my level of writing and communication as a whole. Some of the aspects of essay writing include referencing, grammar and formatting. I believe these skills will not only be useful in the classroom but will also be applied in my career life as well as personal life. I have also had the opportunity to learn about report writing and presentation. Prior to taking this class, I had little knowledge in these areas. However, I can now use presentation tools such as PowerPoint to make professional presentations. In the world of business, presentations and report writing are important. I feel that these skills have added an important component to my academic knowledge that will be of great use. I look forward to expanding on these areas and experiences in the future, and applying this knowledge to real life situations.

I am a good communicator and organizer, always striving to have things done on time. Given that this job requires meeting strict deadlines, I am in a good position to deliver results within a short time. As a critical thinker, I am in a better position to offer creative solutions to day-to-day challenges to clients. With my strong interpersonal skills, I will have no problem relating to clients.
