SEASONAL HOTEL EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION (Student’s name) (Institution) Introduction Employees are very critical to any organization. They are the ones who spend much time with the clients and so determine whether the business will succeed or not. Customers again are the ones who determine the profitability of a business since they determine the level of sales the business will make. Organizations like the seasonal hotel need to be very careful in times of recruiting employees. The human resources department needs to be careful beginning from advertising the job vacancies up to the final selection of the new employees. Future human resources needs The season hotel human resource department need is to create an efficient and dynamic workplace for all employees. They want to provide equal opportunities to all employees and with no any form of discrimination so as to comply with the equal opportunity employment Act 1987 with the anti-discrimination Act 1977. The human resource also needs to have a diversified workforce in the future. Such employee recruitment and selection is expected to enable the company have the best and more productive employees who will direct the business towards success (Yeung, 2011). Training and other forms of support After the recruitment and selection, employees will be provided with sufficient training according to their job specification. The training will be provided free of charge. This will be done throughout the induction process. Here, all the selected candidates will be trained on the specific areas one is required to do. They will also be introduced other activities that are essential to the company so as to be able to work efficiently. The recruited candidates will also be familiarized with the organization’s rules and regulations they are supposed to comply with. During this period, candidates will also be informed on other important issues such as emergency exits, car parks among other necessary issues for safety and security purposes. This is to make them feel part and parcel of the company and so work effectively without any fear or less confidence (Cook, 2006). Advertisement of vacant positions Season hotel is aiming at attracting the best applicants in the lowest cost possible. Job advertisement will, therefore, be allocating enough time, two to three weeks where every job seeker will be able to see the advertisement. In addition, advertisement will be done through various channels such as the company’s website, online website, recruitment agency and newspapers. Enough information concerning the job vacancies will also be provided so as to make the applicants gain enough expectation of what they are required to do. Such information will include; a description of the job, specifically what the job is, the requirement of the job on a daily basis, the working hours and the qualifications needed from the applicant. The advertisement and selection of position process is supposed to be carried out free from any biasness and discrimination in that all the applicants will be treated fairly regardless f their gender, religion among other social factors (Arthur, 2001). Utilization of specialists In order to select the most productive employees who will lead the company to attain its goals and objectives, season hotel will need to include specialists in selecting the best employees out of the applicants. They will, therefore, need to include some specialists such as, psychologists during the interview who will be reading the applicants minds and identify whether the information they provide is true or falls. The specialists will also assist in identifying whether one has the required employability skills or not. Apart from the education qualification, the best employees should have enough employability skills so as to help the business cope with the changing business environment. Such skills are like; creativity, team working, patience among others (Yeung, 2011). Selection procedures and the organizational policy and legal requirements All the employees’ selection procedures are accordance with the organizational policy and legal requirements. The human resource department is aiming at recruiting employees fairly with no discrimination. All the job applications will be handled in an equal way regardless of the ethnic group in which one is coming from or gender. This complies with the fair work Act 2009. All the selected employees will be provided with sufficient training. During the induction process, the employees will also be informed on the basic things concerning the company including the available exists in case of any emergency and other things like car parks among others for safety and security purposes which comply with the work health and safety Act 2011. Given that the all the job applicants will be handled equally is evidence that the company complies with the commonwealth racial discrimination act 1975. Seasonal hotel is aiming at treating all the employees equally despite the gender differences, status or physical appearance. This means that the company complies with the equal employment opportunity act 1987 and the disability discrimination Act 1992. Seasonal hotel employee recruitment also complies with the privacy Act 1998 in that all the procedures will be handled privately, away from the other companies (Cook, 2006). The company’s processes for advising the selected applicants In order to equip their selected employees from the applicants with the enough requirements for the job, the human resources are aiming at providing them with enough advice. They will be advised on issues concerning; what to do in case of a dilemma situation where one do not know what to do. They will be advised on how to handle high tempered clients. The employees will also be advised on how to bear with the top management in case they become harsh to them due to some reasons. This will enable the employees cope with the situation that may arise in the work place. It is also a way of maintaining employees (Arthur, 2001). The company’s job offers The company has constantly job offers as it continues to grow. Seasonal hotel’s need for new employees arises after every short time and that they will still require new employees in the near future. Individuals who send their applications to the company will, therefore, of a great advantage even if one misses to secure the current position. In case of any other opportunity, such a candidate is always given the highest priority. Given that the company is aiming at providing health conditions to its employees so as to make them work effectively, attractive salaries and wages with bonuses are paid to every employee depending on the responsibilities one has. The company employees’ salaries and wages are also increased after every five years. This s a way of maintains the employees and so the company have highly experienced employees which contribute to their high successful level of is likely to maintain the position (Cook, 2006). Conclusion Seasonal hotel is among the most successful companies in the world. The company serves customers from various places which have contributed to its high level of success. As it succeeds in its operations, the company expands and it is growing continuously creating the need for new employees. The human resource department is always very sensitive in times of recruiting new employees. The recruitment process beginning from advertisement to final selection is normally performed very carefully while complying with all the rules and regulations together with the company’s policies.
