Employee Turnover

            Employee turnover refers to the voluntary terminations of members from organizations. It relates to the proportion of the employees leaving during a given period before the anticipated end of their contract. Other researchers view employee turnover as the net outcome of the exit of some employees, as well as the entrance of others within the business entities. This indicates that the concept relates to the amount of movement in and out of the employees about the business institution or organization.

            Employee turnover provides the opportunity for the rotation of workers across the labor market, firms, occupations, and jobs, as well as states of unemployment and employment. It is critical to note that the concept might occur through voluntary or involuntary contexts. From a theoretical perspective, voluntary employee turnover refers to the termination of the employees. On the other hand, involuntary turnover is the one in which employees have no choice in the determination of the contract. Some of the causes of involuntary termination of employment contracts include long-term sickness, death, moving overseas, and termination of the contract by the employer.
