Reflection Paper xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Insert Name xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Institution xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Instructor xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date Reflection Paper I believe the greatest challenge people are facing today is globalization and how to go about it. In globalization can be defined as the interconnection and the linkages that are formed between states across the globe thus making up a modern world system. In my belief, globalization is the process which activities, decisions and events in one part of the universe can come together to have an important consequences for both individuals and communities in quite distant parts of the world. Over years, I believe that the definition of globalization is taking different shapes based on different aspects. In my view, globalization is a set of political and economic structures as well as processes which derive from the changing character of assets and services across the universe. Evidently, globalization has played an important factor in promoting economic growth especially in developing countries. Firstly, with liberalization of global trade has and continue to enhance economic growth in developing nations. Liberalization of global trade has led to the stimulation of production of goods and services thus raising the living standards of individuals and nations. Additionally, globalization has led to enhanced communication among nation. With increased technological and transportation advancement coupled with increased internet usage, communication across nations has greatly enhanced. People are able to communicate regardless of the distance separating them. Due to the international ties existing between nation the exchange of goods and services is made easier with the advancement in the communication and transportation sectors. Nevertheless, even with the increased economic growth brought about by globalization there are various social injustices that are brought about globalization. The main social injustice is the disappearance of minority group. Globalization recognizes English as the main language of communication and thus minority languages are neglected. I believe that minority languages are used by most communities as their social identities and thus maintaining their heritage. Additionally, social identities enhance cultural diversity and thus globalization continues to destroy the cultural diversity across the globe. Additionally, globalization continues to widen the gap between the rich and poor. The rich are using globalization to get richer at the expense of the marginalized communities. Globalization calls for respecting people background and embracing positive organizational culture and change. Developing countries should not use developed countries in the wake of globalization and therefore need to be our own brother keepers. In this regard, globalization continues to be the main reason for ecological degradation especially in developing nations. Developed nations protect their ecological base through consuming resources from developing nations and polluting their environments. Increased globalization calls for understanding what skills are needed to ensure emerging talent is cultivated. Globalization has resulted to increased competition among companies and thus the need to enhance talent so as to develop a more competitive edge. Organizations need to define their talent management and ensure that there is maximum development of organizations and individuals so as to respond to this changing as well as complex business environment. I believe that for organizations need to adopt humanized management which calls for the creation as well as maintenance of people oriented, supportive and organization culture. It is quite evident that humanized management entails bring together human resources as well as management initiatives. Additionally, it is my observation that organizations are adopting humanized management so as to succeed in today complex and competitive business environment. Humanized management is a critical resource that needs to be managed so as to achieve the best results. Employers need to provide a good working environment so as to allow employees understand the different concepts within a company. Employees’ talent can be developed through training as this is important in enhancing organizational performance. While organization benefit from the employees outputs it is necessary that employees also develop their skills and knowledge from the different organizational operations. It is quite evident that young people in an organization are important resource and therefore companies should ensure that this age group gets the best experience. Having a well established management team is very important in enhancing organizational continuity. I believe managers’ plays an important role in coordinating and managing organizational processes and therefore before obtaining other employees it is necessary to have an effective management team. Creativity in the different employees improve organizational enthusiasm which I believe in turn translate to increased performance. I believe that there is an importance of understanding the various characters that describe a particular career. The different characters are; extraversion, introversion, sensing, intuition, thinking, feeling, judging and perceiving. It is very important that an individual chooses among these characters in order to ensure they enhance their career ambitions. From the different characters, I choose four characters namely; extraversion, intuition, feeling and perceiving. In every career, individual need to be imaginative and warmly enthusiastic so that they can be in a position to drive their company concepts, vision and value statement. Imaginative and enthusiastic among employees’ guarantees innovations in organization assist them to gain a more strong competitive edge amidst increased rates in globalization. The character I choose ensure that employees are able to make great connection between information and events very quickly and thus enhancing individuals perceptions’ and abilities. Employees are in a position to work flexibly and spontaneously and thus develop their own ability to improvise on available resources for the good of the organization. I believe that I wanted to be an actor since my major in the university was performance and I found acting interesting. But after interaction with many individuals I am currently interested in opening a logistic company. The logistic sector is a very popular occupation due to its wide application across the globe. It is very important that with increased competition, that one engages in a career that offers a bigger scope of advancement due to its numerous application. In order to get maximum experience on what logistic entails I believe it is important that I get some internship in a well renowned logistic company. Internship plays an important role in creating work experience to individuals and thus preparing them to work effectively in their different organization. During the internship, I intend to understand the company operation mode as well as its management system. Additionally, the internship will ensure that I am able to understand the management of flow or resources from the production to the consumption points. It is quite evident that there is certain complexity that surrounds the logistic sector such as; analysis, visualization and optimization of software and thus engaging in internship will enable to obtain problem solving skills that will enable me in the management of my logistic company. I believe I am a brand in my own making based on my opinions, perceptions as well as abilities. Understanding one’s ability is important aspects of establishing a strong brand making an individual better than their opponents. The fact that performance is my university major is an advantage especially in the university where there is diversity in term of backgrounds and languages. it is evident that a strong brand image is my own powerful asset towards enhanced performance. It is for this reason that I have come to realise the importance of building myself in a consistent and clear method. My brand continues to confirm my credibility both inside and outside the university. It is my belief that my own brand lies within the hearts and minds of those interested in my singing. And therefore, their sum total of their perceptions as well as experiences some of which I believe I can influence while others you cannot. A strong brand exhibited by an individual is an invaluable and there is need to develop its foundation to acquire a more competitive edge. From the above summaries, one can conclude that in times of globalization there is need for one to define his career and brand to guarantee performance. I used to believe that one can work alone to enhance his performance but after observation I have realized that diversity of skills among people from different background plays an important role in increasing organizational performance. Clearly, definition of one ability assist in drawing an individual social identity. It is important to develop a good and strong working environment so as to reinforce shared values. Additionally, employees should be in a position to link their duties and responsibilities to the different values engraved in the organizational mission and vision. Since I intend to start my own logistic firm, I believe as a manager I am expected to coach people skills so as to build sustainable processes so as to support effective development. Acting as a role model through being transparent will ensure that am in a position to embrace vulnerability whereby I will not feel powerful over other employees. Globalization calls for respecting people background and embracing positive organizational culture and change. Developing countries should not use developed countries in the wake of globalization and therefore need to be our own brother keepers. London, UK: Author. Appendixes 1.) Summary 1: 26 July 2013 I studied about course of professional business practice in this week. This is my first time to learn business courses. The first ,our teacher gave us a paper. It had two questions except personal information. One question is like the three reasons of globalization. I think that globalization can promote the economic growth of developing countries. And make the better communication among nations. The last, I think globalization can let people easier to travel and study aboard. About do not like three reasons of globalization. The first, it will leads to the disappearance of the minority language. The diversity of culture will be destroyed. I only thought about these two points that I do not like the cause of globalization. Because I think globalization is a good phenomenon. But I found out that my idea is not good when I heard the other students point of view. He said Globalization will makes the gap between rich and poor is widening. And it will damage to ecological environment in developing countries. Developed countries in order to protect the country's ecological environment from pollution, and put a lot of pollution industries are set up overseas, not only consumes resources of other countries, but also pollute the environment of other countries. I haven't thought of these problems before. I think this information is very important to me. 2.) Summary 2 With 15 or fewer words to describe your abilities, Premise is you as a brand. What an interesting topic. Our group thought that we can quickly to communicate with others. Because we come from different countries have different languages. So we thought that is our capabilities. But I think I have ability to another. Because in college my major is performance So I think, if I as a brand that performance and sing is my ability. In class, there has a question I am interested. It about important of ‘soft skills’, I do not know what is it before this class. My classmates told me, it like EQ. ‘soft skills’ include a person's social skills and communication skills and language ability. It can let people know themselves. Find their own shortcomings and get rid of it. ‘Soft skills’ can make people enhance self-confidence. So it is very important. 3.) Summary 3 Last week I received an email that about we will do a questionnaire in this class. I am curious about this questionnaire and can't wait to do it. It is a questionnaire about the character and future career. I spent 20 minutes to finish it. Our teacher wrote on the blackboard EISNTFJP eight letters. The eight letters represent respectively extraversion, introversion, sensing, intuition, thinking, feeling, judging and perceiving. Our teacher let us choose a tendency of the letters between E and I, S and N, T and F, J and P. My answer is E, N , F, P. When we finished it. We opened the answer of questionnaire. It the same as my answer. It is for ENFP explanation that (Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. see life as full of possibilities. make connections between events and information very quickly , and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see . Want a lot of affirmation from others, and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency.照抄原文) about future career, I want to be an actor before I come here. Because my major is performance in university. It very interesting. I like the feeling of on the drama stage. But now, I would like to open a logistics company. Because of its wide application and it is a popular profession. So if i want to accomplish this goal. First of all, I need to a logistics company to internship. Understand the company's management system, operation mode. 4.) Summary 4 Today we had group discussions. Our group question was what type of strategies are needed to cultivate this emerging talent pipeline? About this question , We divided into two parts to answer it. First of all, on the management Angle the company can adopt humanized management. Provide a stable work and let the employees understand the company's advanced concepts. As an employee, they need a good work environment, providing some education, the most important thing is have a high income. When we answer this question, Our teacher asked us a question, what the company can bring to young professional skills. I think, the company can provide the most important skill for young people is working experience. After this discussing, we talked about the management of a company. This company has no manager, by the employee to recruit employee, ask we agree with this opinion? Our group on this subject has produced some ominous signs. Because it is not fair. For example, I have a friend who worked in this company, our relationship is very good, so if I want to go to the company it will be easier than others. So we think that this is not a good idea. But when I was finishing my notes, I find this idea is very creative, because sometimes the staff realized that the company needs what kind of technical personnel and let them has some rights, it can improve their enthusiasm to the work.
