The hospitality industry faces persistent challenges that are cross-cultural in nature thus; there is a need for continuous assessment of performance against the nature of the service market expectations. Mohsin (2006) goes on to suggest that the challenges faced by service providers would be easier to combat if those responsible for providing them are brought up in an environment that encourages knowing more about others and proving service to them. This knowledge has implications on managerial practices, which suggest a way forward for service encounters in hospitality.

Learning new managerial practices has been necessitated following the effect of globalization on the hospitality industry. As new companies enter different territories, they need to implement managerial strategies that will ensure their success in a new environment.
