Oral Defense Interview – Questions Proposal and Research Plan Q Prior to the formulation of the final research question, the researcher conducted an extensive consultation seeking for broad information concerning this topic issue of inefficiency and delays in proceeding in Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. It was through these consultations that the researcher got informed on the real problem that should be investigated. Q.2 Lack of some information perceived to be critical was a threat in the formulation of the final research question.

For instance, some appointments booked with professional who were to provide guidelines were turned down. Q.3 Issues such as ethical principles that guide research were considered and integrated with the research proposal. Discussion on the benefits of literature review as well proved beneficial. Q.4 The diversity of the workforce in Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and the significance of the services (criminal justice) offered by the company in the community were the major reasons. Q.5 The company evidentially has large human resources whose performances are influence by motivation among others.

Seeking to investigate and recommend solutions would be noble. Literature Review Q.1 Previous studies conducted have investigated on ways to improve performance of the whole human workforce but ignored individual benefits of training programs. Q.2 Literature Review provided background empirical information about the topic hence giving a starting point for this research. It has also given a theoretical perspective on the topic issue. Q.3 The research question was modified in such a way that it answered the issues that had been ignored by previous researchers. Q.4 The study reviewed ten different academic journal articles that had information concerning the empirical researches that had been done. Q.5 The main research resources were peer reviewed journal articles.

They were relevant since they had the most recent studies that had been done on the topic. Q.6 The previous studies ignored individual differences and focused more on the benefits a whole workforce team gains when taken through training and development programs. Methodology Q.1 Face-to-face interview was chosen because the researcher could observe non-verbal cues. Email survey was chosen due to its privacy. Q.2 The data found in the books and records kept by the company were certainly reliable and accurate. Q.3 The method was chosen because it would help come up with a sample that highly represents the larger population. Q.4 The population was highly diverse and finding a method that could ensure every element is captured was necessary. Q.5 In lieu of using just five sources, it would have been appropriate to expand the number of secondary sources. Q.6 Some secondary sources were changed. Q.7 It was pretty hard to find information from some primary sources due to restricted time.

The previous set time schedules had to be changed to overcome this. Q.8 It was collected through conducting a face-to-face interview with the sampled employees. Their responses were recorded for analysis. Q.9 Literacy level as well as language spoken by the participants influenced this. Q.10 Qualitative methods aim at exploring the dynamics of the problems in terms of trends, opinions among others while quantitative focuses on the numerical implications of the issue (Creswell, 2014,p. 98). Q.

11 The data was presented in chart and graphs that had representative information about the findings. Q.12 The study used SWOT analysis. Q.13 The construct that were being investigated influenced the choice of the analysis tool. Q.14 The data presented is a representation of a relatively large population and it can be generalized to other similar populations. Q.15 The presentation would be better if more sophisticated technological data presentation techniques were used. Q.16 The data collection and analysis methods best suited the study as it has helped come out with accurate and reliable information. Q.17 The numerical data collected required graphical presentation. Q.18 The questionnaires assured participants of confidentiality.

However, the emotions of the participants could not be detected via email survey. Q.19 The questions this instrument asked were all relevant and valid in regard to the research question. Findings & Recommendations Q.1 The philosophy that guides practice in the company is the source of human resource practice. Q.2 It was found out that government has a bigger role to play in improving employee motivation. Also, staff development should be ended whenever any structural failure is detected. Q.3 There should be adequate time allocated for training.

Training should also be made interesting. Q.4 The findings parallel well with the data retrieved from the books and records of the organization. Q.5 The information can be used by the organization to set their staff development programs in a manner that can benefit every individual and eliminate delays and inefficiency. Q.6 The findings demonstrate the practical significance of motivation of staff in performance. Q.7 It was majorly recommended that the organization should enhance its staff training and motivation if high performance is anticipated. Q.8 The organization seems to have allocated more funds directed towards employee training. Q.9 The project has covered areas such as communication, interpersonal relationships and employer-employee interaction. Q.10 The project was an eye-opener as it has transformed research from just being a theoretical conception to become a real, practical activity. Q.11 The goal of providing timely fair justice can only be achieved if the delays are eliminated.

The recommendations will help rejuvenate the employee to perform to the maximum. Project Journal Q.1 I wanted to gain independence and a sense of responsibility for completing tasks. Q.2 Time management was key. I competed to beat the deadlines I set on my own. Discipline also guided my work. I did not have to wait for anyone to wake me or supervise me for me to deliver my best performances. Q.3 I would only allocate more time for Literature Review section as it had large information that needed adequate time. Q.4 The most interesting part was data analysis although challenging.

Literature Review section also needed high attention. All in all, the challenges triggered me to seek for more information and I appreciate that. Q.5 Teamwork is essential when undertaking a project and I must say it benefited this research a lot. Different partners came with different ideas that were combined to come up with the best outcome.
