They are America’s one of the most trusted providers in the field of reproductive health care (Planned Parenthood, 2010). There are thousands of women who get unwanted pregnancy and later these results to abortion in many parts of the world. Planned Parenthood is the trusted health care services provider of sexual and reproductive health since last 90 years. The various affiliates of parenthood health care services have been successful in serving over three million of women, men as well as teenagers in a year. It started in the year 1916 by Sanger along with her friends which was the first clinic for birth control in Brooklyn, New York (Planned Parenthood, n.d.). Overview and assessments of services provided Planned Parenthood is the largest and the oldest non profit organization for reproductive health of the world. Many women are receiving health care services from this organization. The organization has been successful in providing Sexual and reproductive health care services. Demographics Served Planned Parenthood has been serving people of various ages specially teens and adults. It educates over three million women, men as well as teens nationwide every year. It has been found that 70 percent of the clients of parenthood have very poor income level. The organization aims at providing training to the uneducated people who don’t have much information about safer sex. This is especially evident in the developing countries like India, Nepal where awareness of such programmers plays a vital role in the lives of human. The organization has been working to support the Muslim women as they are not allowed to leave home alone which makes it difficult for them to visit the health cares on their own. Thus this organization has been educating and seeking the support of the religious leaders who has great influence in these Muslim areas (Planned Parenthood, n.d.). Financial and Operational Outcomes It has been noted from the annual report (2007-2008) that about one third of the money is funded by the Government grants and contracts which was $349.6millions in the year 2008. Health care income amounts to $374.70 millions in the same fiscal year. Other operating revenue amounted to $68.9 millions. Other items such as Contribution and Bequest and support have been eliminated from the revenue items. Therefore total revenue for the year 2007-2008 was $1038.1millions. It also received support from more than 700000 active individual contributors, including individual contribution that was received from international service agencies as well as federal service campaigns (Planned Parenthood, 2008). Current and Future Direction of Planned Parenthood Planned Parenthood throughout the year has been active in case of social and clinical research. The various educational programs that they undertake i.e. national and international are broad in nature and are provided to patients, community. As there is much acceptance for family planning program thus Planned Parenthood has been placing more and more stress in providing professional education for those personnel who initiate these services. In the nearest future the organization would like to influence various new technologies in order to build strong relations through internet.
