Art galleries of the USA National Gallery of Art Established in the year 1937, the National Gallery of Art serves as United States collection of fine arts located in the Washington DC with a population of 658, 893. The National Mall houses the museum, and it has been split into the West and East Buildings (White 23). The Western part of the museum contains most of the American and European collections while the Eastern part contains modern arts and provides the space for exhibition. Entry to this museum is basically free, and it is owned by the federal government thus a non-profit premise. There are various education programs through DVDs, online lessons, interactive museum lessons, as well as support for families, kids, and teachers on creating awareness about art in the entire USA. The theme of the arts is the traditional American and European paintings though there has been the incorporation of the modern, a perfect example being the Ginevra de Benci by Leonardo. Fundraising is done on the basis of becoming a member by donating a gift of $1,000 enabling one to enjoy exhibitions, education programs and other programs. Besides, the museum owns stationery, and other art galleries can be accessed online. Getty Center The Getty is among the best art museums in Los Angeles, having a population of 3.884 million, with the cheapest collection where everything almost accessed freely (White 24). There is free admission, besides, the exhibits, gallery talks and the curator-led tours are provided at no additional fees. The museum is unique as it stays open until 9 pm on Saturdays and parking is not charged after 5p.m during the weekends. The theme of the arts focuses on modern architecture that adds to the expensive city view in addition to the labyrinth of gardens adds to the impressiveness of the museum. Besides, there is the exhibition of the Western art including the illuminated manuscripts, paintings, photos, drawings and other decorative arts that have been provided for by American and European artists. Getty centre has various shops spread across LA with the main shop situated in the Entrance Hall offering books, gifts, jewelry, and stationery. There is also the children shop in the West Pavilion and also the Centre for Photographs Shop also offering art galleries. There education programs provided by the Education department that organizes partnerships, programs, social media lessons, and resources for training. One can become a member of the museum by signing up for the mailings to receive the e-newsletters or can contribute in the form of donating arts. Museum of Modern Art The Museum of Modern is situated in the Midtown of Manhattan containing a variety of modern arts and also organizes the regular exhibition of these arts in the remodeled galleries (White 28). The museum contains some of the most recognized modern paintings of Van Gogh, Pollock, Rousseau, and Picasso. Entry to the Museum is only free on Fridays while the rest of days are charged that it is a profit museum. Visitors can enjoy unique artistic works Vincent Gosh like the Starry Night. Other outstanding works include Henri Rousseau’s The Sleeping Gypsy and also the Number 31 by the renowned Jackson Pollock. Also adding to the unique collections is Flag, the artistic piece done by Jasper Johns and also Andy Warhol’s great art, the Campbell Soup Cans (White 31). Some of the renowned collections from the museum include the America Art, French Impressionist paintings, and Egyptian Art. There are also Japanese and Chinese Arts. Also, people become membership through donations and teaching, or educative programs are available to help the visitors to know more about the art galleries. Some of the arts to enjoy include the Paul Revere portrait, George Washington’s portrait by Gilbert Stuart and Watson and the Shark by Copley (White 45). Summary of the 4Ps marketing Mix of the art museums In terms of place, National Gallery of Art the museum is strategically located in Washington DC, with easy accessibility and good population as the target audience. The Getty Center museum is situated in Los Angeles, a city with the high potential for enjoying artistic products and also has the good economic background to drive good sales. In comparison, Museum of Modern Art museum enjoys being located in the New York, a city with good population and easy accessibility while Museum of Fine Arts Boston enjoys the same location advantage like other art museums. For National Gallery of Art Pricing is basically not an issue entry is free only educational materials can be purchased while Getty museum boasts of harnessed prices to cater for the need of the various customers including children who may be interested in arts and drawings and the prices for adults who enjoys both the villa services and the unique arts as attractions. The prices are also spread to cater for the needs of different visitor for the Museum of Modern Art, the same pricing strategy used in Museum of Fine Arts Boston. In terms of product, National Gallery of Art enjoys a variety of unique American and European art including the modern art galleries and differentiated its product into paintings, sculptures, photographs from 1839 to date, drawings and prints dating from 11th century to date. However, Getty’s product base is differentiated into drawings, paintings, sculptures, and photographs all showing the American and European historical and modern arts. Nonetheless, most products of the Museum of Modern Art have been focused on the modern and unique artists especially from Rousseau, Vincent Gosh, and Pollock while the Museum of Fine Arts Boston enjoys a variety of modern arts including the George Washington’s portraits and other modern arts. The National Gallery of Art does promotions during the exhibitions and social media with no distinct marketing budget as the museum is dependent on the exhibitions, the same strategy used by the Museum of Modern Art. In contrast, Getty Museum is advertised through the e-newsletters thus the use of electronic and database marketing while Museum of Fine Arts Boston is heavily dependent on social media for promotion.
