Wal-Mart has a significant global presence due to its several outlets that sell its products. It has geographically dispersed value creation centers around the world and this means it enjoys wide market which is an aspect of globalization. It is worth to note that Walmart employs locals and expatriates in its various outlets which promote cultural diversity in its organizational structure with the significant global image. In this way, it promotes globalization which has become an integral part of any multinational’s plan.

Walmart has gained much popularity in the United States due to its efficient operations and consistent supply of customer-focused products. It absorbs several American citizens in its personnel lineup which contributes to increasing overall income distribution and reduces unemployment. Despite all its outlets spread across the world, it has the head office in the US where all decisions are made with significant production process controlled from within. This means that significant returns from its outlets in other countries are repatriated back to the USA which contributes to the overall growth of the economy.

Walmart needs to consider its stand on environmental care and corporate social responsibility which will address the importance of the society on its existence. There is also the need to improve employment terms as this is critical to its sustained performance and overall public image. The emerging trend in business society where organization rating is pegged on a commitment to the society besides shareholders welfare put Walmart in a place to care about the welfare of the society on top of the shareholder.
