However, the e-business refers to the utilization of web platforms and internet to convey business information among employees by means of their in-house systems, between remote users, among branch offices and customers, business partners, public and the suppliers. Additionally, the e-business is an automation of traditional business practices. In addition, the organizations are able to automate a lot of in-house operations through novel sources of information. We are freed up consequently and we are able to make use of the information and technology to let our work at your business rather than in our business (Assaid, 2006) & (Liam, 2009). This paper presents new business ideas and the description of key features of e-business environment. This paper will present a detailed analysis of the development of an online business, its business model and operational structure. Business Idea According to Assaid (2006), the power of automation is one of the benefits of business, and it also reduces the need to hire employees. Additionally, the web based or e-business will increase customer communication speed and boost bottom line while focusing on target marketing for business. In addition, a number of organizations having online business are devoted to re-develop and enhance their sales to increase their profits. Effective media coverage helps businesses build up a reputation in the society as well as get more customers (Assaid, 2006). By seeing the huge developments in web based businesses, we have decided to establish an online DVD shop. In the traditional business practice, the customer needs to go to the DVD shop and search for the particular file, album, software, program or any documentary and pay for the selected items. This overall business circle is time consuming and hard to handle. In this scenario our web based DVD shop will help the customers purchase and pay through the web platform even by sitting at home. Business Scope According to Liam (2009), the ever-increasing number of people who utilize the internet is showing to be a boom for businesses that are expanding their reach to the online community. However, one of its main concerns is the online customer experience. On the other hand, when a customer purchases online, he does not interact with other people, but he is linked to online consumer activities center residing on the online business website. This defines the customer experience that connects our customers with our online business (Liam, 2009). Carson (2009) outlined that a lot of business are redesigning or designing their e-business structure, services and processes to get benefits of internet capabilities, because this is substantially important in a business. The model of e-business comprises e-commerce that supports as “some transaction in which the parties work together electronically rather than through physical exchanges or direct physical communication”. The number of clients buying products in the course of internet increases progressively and it is compulsory for corporations to set up their business according to customer demands to make profit as well as not to loose marketplace shares (Carson, 2009). In this scenario our web based DVD Shop business will have the following scope: Online Shopping Online DVD Searching Online Payment Better Customer Support Easy way of shopping Updating customers about new arrivals Establishing better relations with the customers Targeting media products in much better way E-Business Characteristics The proposed business of the online DVD shop requires having following characteristics: Provides greater exposure. Always available, saves money and time. Provides possibilities for development. Easy to access for everyone including the clients and other persons. Results in synchronized procedures and overall satisfaction. Improves credibility and standardize sales performance. Proposed Business Model for DVD E-Business Business-to-business is a kind of dealing in which the dealing of services or goods is carried out among companies. In case of our online DVD Shop business, we will use B2B that will describe e-communication between enterprise and business to detach it from business-to-commerce type dealings, however at present it is as well employed for marketing reasons. In this scenario, the online business deals with business model that we are going to implement are online selling in which a customer pays for its desired products. Web Site Development To develop web based DVD Shop business we will need an online system development model. In this scenario we will use “waterfall system development” methodology for the website development. In this scenario the system development activities work break down structure is given below: Requirements User interviews and meetings to collect requirements for online DVD shop Take functional non-functional requirements Design Functional specifications for online DVD shop Technical specifications Database design Interfaces design Development System interface Database for online DVD shop Back-End system coding Reports Quality Assurance Verify design and functionality for online DVD shop Perform integration testing Database testing Training Create system documentation for online DVD shop Create training material Train users Implementation Determine hardware needs Determine software needs Develop implementation plan Installation through web hosts Going Live for DVD shop Post-implementation to verify system Project Wrap-up Obtain final project signoff Document and review lessons learned Domain Names and Web Hosting After designing and developing the web site, it should be accessible to the people. A web hosting service provider provides hosting services by means of WWW. Additionally, there are different packages depending upon the requirements of the site owner. The companies that offer such hosting services are acknowledged as web hosts who, basically, rent out their domain at some specific charges. However, charges can be paid monthly or annually, depending on the customer’s requirements. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the internet for servers (Assaid, 2006). There are many free and paid web hosting providers offering these services. For our Online DVD Shop business we will evaluate the requirements to choose what kind of hosting should we use? The things that we need to consider when choosing a hosting package are: The available amount of disk space Unlimited email space Bandwidth limitation PHP support FTP software MSQL support Reading customer reviews For our web based business, we have chosen the domain name “FastDVD.net” that is available in the .net domain. Web design The web design of our online DVD shop will completely follow the basic rules of HCI (human computer interaction) and usability. The proposed web based platform for the DVD shop will offer easy navigation, simple color combination, easy handling and straight web site contents. The proposed web site design is intended to attract more customers. Web Marketing Web marketing is a very important element of online business. In this scenario our proposed web based DVD store will use a lot of e-business marketing methods which can be: Online web based promotion Customer email based promotion Social network supported web marketing News letters Conclusion In this report I have presented a new business idea that is regarding the establishment of an Online DVD Shop. This business is going to offer the customers facility regarding the web based shopping of the DVDs and media items. Through the e-business our business will go on increasing and offer more ROI (return on investment). This report has offered a detailed overview of the key features of this e-business arrangement.
