Ethics and Legal Environment Using Joseph Badaracco's "right-right" framework the situation facing MegaAbbott as the respected senior vice president of CyberFire Corporation can be handled using the four steps as presented by Professor Joseph (Badaracco, 2002). 1. Which way creates the most amount of happiness for the most amount of people? Megan Abbott though through a fraudulently way gets a job through the right recruitment process at CyberFire Corporation as an assistant project facilitator which according to her papers she was overqualified.

Due to her competency at work she raises rightfully through the ranks to a senior managements position, it is a fact from the records of her performance that her evaluation results ranged from very good to outstanding. In addition, she has through her handling of a variety of projects for the firm increased the revenues of CyberFire Corporation. This has earned her a lot of respect from the company except for a few rivalries like Jason due to her success that is normal. From the company point of view, it is clear that the only unhappy person with Megan is Jason and the reasons are quite clear.

That, they competed for the senior Vice president position and Megan worn the position due to merit which is quantifiable through her consistent increase in performance at the company (Hosmer, 2011). On the basis of which way creates the most amount of happiness for most amount of people, Megan should retain the job despite the clear fact that she defrauded the company into giving her the job, she makes most people happy and her dismissal because of this mere fact may derail the progress of the company. 2. Which individuals and which groups have rights we cannot violate?

Based on which individual have rights we cannot violate the situation may be quite different though not so much. This is because Megan got into the company as an assistant project facilitator, the senior management job position requires that an individual posses an MBA which truly Megan does not have. She has though through experience merited the position as she has raised the ranks of the organization through performance and delivery of results. On ethical and legal grounds, Megan is in that office illegally and should be dismissed and charged for having defrauded the company who thinks she has an MBA yet she does not have.

Mega can also be exenorated on grounds that at the time of getting the senior management position, it was on promotion based on performance and not the papers and therefore she merited the position since she has delivered and received appreciation from the company and therefore can still deliver given the opportunity (Badaracco, 2002). She can again reason that at the time she was getting the job it was not a policy by the HR for employees to submit transcripts form degree-granting institutions. 3. Where is the uncrossable line?

The uncontrollable line is therefore the policies of the HR department, which guides the recruitment of the employees of the institution. For the sake of ethics and the rule of law, the HR department will need to follow the policies of the company of demand ding for transcripts indicating the requirements of the positions held. If any one of the employees is found not fit according to the policy requirements, they are dismissed on the grounds of unfitness and a new recruitment procedure is commenced to fit the rightful candidate for the position. 4. What will work in the world, as we know it?

As we know it, what will work in the world is that at times we would ignore policies and rules for the sake of the good of the majority. This version will provide us with a way to avoid the pitfalls of the rushed version of the sleep-test ethics without sacrificing the engagement, richness and power of thinking of this age-old way of thinking about important choices in life to help in the deliberations of this difficult ethical decision. This approach will shift the focus of ethical deliberation from the abstract principles to the personal character.

From logic to psychology, from universal view to the individual perspective, from intellectual towards the emotional, from the objective truth to personal choice and commitment and from the marble temple on the hill to hurly-burly of everyday life (Hosmer, 2011). Therefore, on the basis what will work for the world Megan would still be the preferred choice as she has the experience and has shown achievements in her previous position. She did not cheat deliberately but because she really needed the job to support her family.
