The creation of space is the physical manifestation of culture through the arrangement of texture, temperature, timing, depth, light cycles etc. The aesthetics values of the spaces are as important as the functional values; rather they are the alternative beats of the same heart. The architect is the master interior-decorator who is able to judge the moods of the space-occupier well. I would like to work in an environment wherein the creativity of architecture is not restricted. At the same time in today’s world where the process of urbanisation is taking place in a rapid pace and with enormous growth of population an architect has responsibility to utilise each yard of land to the optimum use and at the same time, take into consideration the profitability aspect for the builders.

Like the medical practitioners, architects too have ethics and they are responsible for the overall interests of the society. When I say I want to study architecture, all these thoughts engulf my mind. 2. My career objectives and long term goals. In tandem with the perspective mentioned above, I wish to acquire thorough theory knowledge. Next, I wish to work with reputed architects for gaining experience. I shall proceed by giving respect to the wise saying, that theory is other man’s experience. . he earmarked space, I will discuss the wants of the intended buyer (this is applicable to independent housing units, and not a housing complex with flats) and plan out everything as per the user requirement taking into consideration the functional aspect of the space, without any wastage of area.

Proper utilisation of the gifts of Nature like ventilation and lighting and providing the best view to the user is important to me. Housing is expected to be the comfort zone where an individual returns after spending a hectic day and from the rigours of travelling. The design of the living space is normally a life-time design; as such I will create it taking into consideration the time factor and the possible future trends. 3. What I want to learn/gain from the Program? The plan of the structure is like an orchestra.

One muffled drum, one wrong note can spoil the splendor of the symphony. The concepts of design vary from culture to culture and according to the geographical regions and I want to find technical solutions accordingly. My designs should also be idealistic taking into consideration the ground realities. For every work for which an architect is commissioned, the level of involvement depends upon the budget agreed upon. Within that framework, I wish to show my creativity. Most of the real world projects are profit-based and even the special projects would not like to throw away the money.

On the contrary, they are more budget-conscious. With close interaction with my learned professors in the program, I would like to engage them in detailed discussion to get benefit out their vast knowledge of theory and the practical solutions from the visiting professors about the current ground realities in the field of architecture. 5- What led me to apply to Tubman College? I
