Extract of sample "Analysis of The movie the terminator in aspects of reality and technology"

The movie “The Terminator” offers a great perspective into reality as well as technology. Directed by James Cameron and released in 1984, the movie was a step into time and offered viewers a new type of viewing experience. The basis of the movie is depicted upon a cyborg “robot” that has traveled through time. The robot came from the time 2029. The robot has plans to kill a woman named Sarah O Conner because time has told that her son will one day fight against their kind. The movie is far from reality in aspects of the ability to travel through time.

Traveling through time is not achievable. If one could travel through time and know the future, the movie would be more realistic. Although the movie does not portray reality, the movie offers a good prediction of the future regarding technology. Many technological advances that the movie predicts are not so far from reality as 2012 approaches. A scene in the movie shows the terminator shopping for guns in a gun store. He asked for a weapon that has not yet been invented. Although the weapon has not yet been invented in 1984, in 2029 the weapon is considered a weapon of choice.

Overall, the movie the terminator is an unrealistic prediction as far as time travel, but an accurate assumption of what life was thought to be like in the year 2029. The terminator movie and its many series have become classic movies and blockbuster hits, offering viewers an action packed sci-fi thrill ride. Works CitedNashawaty, Chris.
