Assignment Comparison of Baby Boomers and Generation Y Part 1A Oranges and apples belong to very dissimilar types of fruit families. The former ones are squashy and pulpy, while the latter ones are hard and come in various types. In this way, both of these fruits differ in multiple dimensions for instance; apples are obtainable in several colors, while their partners are not so versatile in their colors. However, both of these fruits are present in different sizes though. But, also differ in terms of eating, because apples are like fast food and therefore, can be eaten instantly, on the other their orange partners are to be handled with care and diligence. Part 1B Introduction Baby boomers are parents of generation Y, therefore had the responsibility of training them. However, baby boomers were able to transfer the concept of ethics effectively to their next generation (Freestone & Mitchell, 2004). But, with overwhelming technological growth, these ethical concepts became blurred for generation Y. due to this reason, generation X is apparently with any ethical guidelines whatsoever. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to provide a translation mechanism, which can convert traditional ethics into electronic ones. Baby boomers are youth of 1970s, when internet was not that powerful to influence every sector of human life therefore, they were able to spend an honest life by working eight hours a day therefore, they trained their children in terms of existing ethical system. But, generation Y enabled a significant technological development to take place during their years of energy thus, changing the perception of ethics forever (Onen, 2012). On the other hand, baby boomers are not able to grasp the idea of electronic social and economic life, where everything and anything is possible through networked computers. However, there are three fundamental areas, where baby boomers and generation Y are different that are job design, ethics and relationships (Al Otaibi, 2012). Both of the generations are apart from each other in terms of their professional endeavors because, the former one is not able to understand the concept of knowledge workers and the latter one is unfamiliar with the application of ethics while performing job in technological world of 21st century, which is plagued with unethical activities. At the same time, these two groups are much different with reference to relationship management because, baby boomers are more concerned with vitalization of old and new friendships through empathy and compassion, while their children are more inclined towards fulfillment of their interests through their acquaintances. Conclusion This section focused on analyzing dissimilarities among perception of baby boomers and generation Y regarding modern technological interventions in human life. However, the major disparities lie in the concepts of both the generations about contemporary job design, ethics and relationships. Therefore, baby boomers should attempt to understand that time has changed, so they are supposed to cope with novel organizational practices in order to assimilate in the society. On the other hand, generation Y, must apply ethics and traditional sociology in their lives because, these values are the defining attributes of humanity for past number of centuries. Part 2A Problem-Solution Essay: Summary Abaidoo, R Dynamics Of US Economic Recovery: Can We Still Count On The Finance And Insurance Sector? Journal of Business and Economics Research 9(10) 2011 (St) This paper will view the aggravating problem of recession in US. (El) However, the major reason identified for this prolonged recession, is lack of corporate activity in the country, (Ev) which is being hindered with increasing interest rate in US market (Waddan, 2010). (Ev2) In this way, banks are trading off long-term financial objective of increased corporate in order to attain short term ones of enhanced spread thus, causing business activity to limit. (Su) However, this paper came to acknowledge the importance of privatized commerce in terms of causing improvement in living standards (Abaidoo, 2011). But, in achieving this goal government’s role is a substantial one because, without governmental relief privatization of commerce sector will remain a dream. Part 2B US Recession: An Overview and Solution Introduction [T] US recession is prolonging for a more than a decade now because of US federal financial departments failure to manage it effectively.[E] However, they have the organizational power and resources to apprehend this situation. [E2] Nevertheless, their unwillingness to take rigorous action towards hunting down a long-term solution is fundamentally hindering their ability to innovate in financial management. [G] The solution of declining incomes in US lies in decentralization of money supply in the economy in order to enhance the monetary condition of people that can be achieved through promotion of small business units and other entrepreneurial ventures. At the same time, [E3] underlying capitalistic financial system of US is playing a significant role in devastating, the economic sector of the country. Because, American financial system is based on the concept of centralizing the funds in the hands of few people and others should be deprived from financial well being against the promise of effective and efficient use of resources. But, [Su] it can be clearly observed that American federal financial department’s failure in managing the financial stress in the form of increasing unemployment. As mentioned earlier, the solution to this problem lies in empowering vanishing middle class in the country because; these people actively work in any economic system in terms of entrepreneurship and education. Along with this, [E4] decreasing number of youth in America is also causing a dent in the creativity of the nation because youngsters are considered viable means of energetic innovation (Deep US Recession Scenario, 2008). [G] But, these solutions are having a high maintenance costs too. therefore, causing the net profit of organizations to drop significantly. In this way, a local financial catastrophe imposed global ramifications. [E5] In parallel, this semi-permanent recession is stemming from the phenomenon of great depression of 1970s because, in those times, whole of the American nation committed in order to end the great depression therefore, most of the technological products belong to 1970s (Waddan, 2010). [G] However, this commitment towards economical development subsided with the passage of time. In this fashion, America reverted to the condition similar to great depression thus, the rectification of economic recession, (which is hindering the technological, intellectual and other similar developmental processes of Americans), lies in empowerment of middle class in order to revitalize the process of innovation in American society. At the same time, [Su] effective financial management can provide economical loans to those who are interested in starting their businesses in order to initiate countrywide betterment of life standards thus, stimulating individuals to create their own capacity of moneymaking (Howell & Azizoglu, 2011). [G] Despite of unfavorable economic conditions, Americans’ ability to survive is time tested therefore, America’s recovery from recession is possible because, it is still the land of opportunities and its emphasis on people will definitely assist Americans from emerging from recession in near future (Prins, 2012). Conclusion [G] However, it is yet to be seen that government will or will not seriously commit towards the betterment of living standards in US because, it is a time honored tradition that governments do not let publics develop in terms of knowledge, power and money in order to prolong their reign. Therefore, world is closely observing the governmental policies of America. Yet, still US government failed to provide notable relief to business community in past few years. Thus, based on this observation, it can be implied that American government is not interested in alleviating growing poverty in the country. References Abaidoo, R. (2011).
