These marriages have proved to be remarkably successful and satisfying to both parties, and the sparkle seldom ceases to glow. Maxim’s parents have grown younger by day and I can distinguish their ages in the photos after a thorough and time-consuming analysis. I contend that these marriages give freedom for the spouses to express their cultures in any way they like.

Maxim’s mother is strongly attached to her culture and is evident in the way she dresses in her photos (Elize). However, certain cultures are stronger, and Maxims Father is assimilated in the American culture through his mode of dressing and speech even though he is a Chinese-American. This portrays ease with cultural interaction and exchange when an individual belongs to more than one race. The photos expose the superiority that certain races have over others. Her mother carries herself in a simple way while her father expresses the dominance of the American culture over the Chinese culture (Elize).

I agree with Maxim when she hints that it is time the society embraces it because we cannot stop the world from moving forward.
