This research paper explains the better way of motivating the students psychologically into playing soccer as well as other games for their healthy living. This research paper as well looks into the importance of the psychological motivation of the students to change their already existing attitudes in relation to sports and exercise psychology. In addition, this paper bridges the existing practice and research gaps in the foundation of sports and exercise psychology. This is brought into existence by this research paper through the conveyance of the professional principle practises.

This research paper finally captures the captures the students prevailing view of the world of sports and exercise. Soccer as an activity can be motivated through various means: imagery can be used by the couches to mark and give the students names of soccer players. This will motivate them and make the students play soccer exactly like the soccer players they are marked with their names. The other common aspect of the psychological motivation in soccer, in sports and exercise psychology should be through the soccer competition concern and satisfaction in the young individuals which normally tends to boost their morale in the sports and exercise. . In psychological motivation of soccer, there is the extrinsic and the intrinsic motivational approaches which should be adopted wholly by the teachers and the sports instructors for the students to take part in the soccer sports.

The extrinsic motivation is an external motivational approach (Weinberg & Gould, 2007). This approach if adopted will boost the students’ psychological perspective on the importance of soccer. This is majorly based on the prizes, money or even acclaims to be awarded the students who are the winning teams. This approach is as well viewed as the psychoanalytical approach towards the psychological motivation of sports in the students (Weinberg & Gould, 2011). The intrinsic approach on the other hand will arise from the students inner feelings of the love of football.

A footballer is normally driven by the need to succeed because they want to be the best as opposed to the socio-economic factors and status acquired in playing soccer. The inner feeling by the students is always the best psychological motivational factors towards a perfect foundation of sports and exercise psychology. Even though most students are normally extrinsically driven into athletes, the best motivational approaches should be the intrinsic motivations (Smith, 2010). The intrinsic motivation will enhance the provision of a sustainability determination in the students through the in-form behaviours as well as the confidence in them while playing soccer.

In an exercise sports and psychology class there should be a team captain (Smith, 2007). The team captain should be in charge of the training sessions whenever the coaches are not around. This as well will boost and change the attitude of the athletes towards the sports and
