The participants were staff and employees in different job levels carrying out distinct responsibilities within the three medium-sized companies. The participants came from distinct ethnic groups, diverse cultural backgrounds, and religious affiliations. All participants volunteered to participate in the study on the condition of strict confidentiality of the information given. An incentive of a copy of “The Best Working Practice” magazine was available for each participant.Participants signed up for this study titled “Self Esteem, & Verbal Adult Bullying” through a registration form attached to the questionnaire.

As I was the person carrying out the study, I sought formal permission from the organization’s management to enable the study through interviews of the employees. Individuals were allowed to participate if they (1) were sober-minded, (2) had been working for the reference company for more than 1 year, (3) had their management’s permission to participate in the study, (4) were aged between 21 and 55 years, and (5) had substantial background information about the reference company. During the study, the participants completed a packet including a background questionnaire, the company’s code of ethics and organizational culture questionnaire, and other questionnaires measuring employee’s self-esteem, interests, job satisfaction and engagement, personal values, and personality.

Additionally, couples working in the same organization did not participate in the study and participants followed the standard order of completing the questionnaire. The participants were encouraged to complete the individually and provide non-biased information. The participants took a maximum of 30 minutes to complete the questionnaire and truthfulness, anonymity, and confidentiality were encouraged.The demographic questionnaire included questions relating to the participants’ sex, marital status, age, level of job engagement, ethnicity, length of engagement with the company, working place of the participant’s partner, how participants relate to the company, and religion.
