The journey among fifteen year old Latinas towards the commemorating occasion of quinceanera and the development of oneself started with two class hours, two days of seclusion or retreat, and a community extension service. The solemnize occasion of quinceanera will be celebrated ceremonially within the church, which is nearly similar to the wedding ceremony because the celebrant has to wear an elegant dress of modern fashion with her escort (chambelan) and fourteen couples of young men and women as the entourage.

After the solemn celebration in the church, the quinceanera is typically held with dinner reception that involves different event components such as mariachi bands, songs, choreographed dances, and also a happy birthday song or the Las Mananitas. As a result, the celebration of quinceanera is one of the most memorable Hispanic practices and experiences among fifteen year old Latinas because it has strengthened their faith towards God and established a strong concept about their true selves. Hence, the quinceanera has indeed created womanhood among the fifteen year old Latinas and had proved the importance of traditions in the culture of the Hispanic communities. . However, this condition becomes more difficult for the immigrants because it will take them too much effort and hard work in order for them to live in America. Hence, the living of an American dream is not easy especially to those immigrants who have less education and knowledge about life in the United States. Despite living in a foreign country, it is still important for immigrants to preserve the role of their original customs, culture, and tradition in their new lifestyle.

It is part of the system of the people to have their set of culture because this will partly determine their identity. For example, the Latin immigrants would celebrate special occasions together with their family, extended and long distant relatives. Accordingly, this particular custom of social event would represent or indicate that the Latins greatly value the essence of family gathering. Hence, family is the primary social system of the people that can be relied for help or assistance while practicing the culture or tradition will make the bond stronger.
