Order 328601 Topic: Imitate Golding by using personal experience to illustrate your understanding of an ion Introduction: What is the most sought after thing in this world of materialistic civilization, impacted by industrial and internet revolution? When I asked this question in a seminar in a college, before a large gathering of students, the combustible younger generation, and nine out of ten replied that they are ‘worried’ about success in life. The remaining one percent said that they think about the success of their love life. The word success was common between the two categories of students. What is success? What is success? This three-word question can be answered in three words: Absence of failure! Success is the most cherished goal of every human being. But the path to achieve it confronts and confuses! Make honest appraises about you, if necessary by taking the help of a professional counselor. Here we are referring to well-defined career goals. Some children possess extraordinary innate talents in music, literature, sports, etc. Such divine-blessed ones should be coached intensively to polish their skills and encouraged to upgrade their talents and take professional degrees recognized by Universities. The suffixes after one’s name do help in improving the career prospects. Discipline and dedication are the hallmarks of success: Just observe how orderly the Nature is and how precise are the movements of the celestial bodies. The changing seasons, the growth of the saplings, the blossoming of flowers, the timings of sun-rise and sun-set etc. Punctuality and precision are the hallmarks of the functioning of the cosmos! Everything works as it should! Lapses are never seen. The right things happen at the right time. Our understanding of the functioning of Nature can be faulty, but Nature is faultless. Molding the character of children to make them noble human beings is the vital part that contributes to their success in life: Every crisis is an opportunity. Accept the challenges of life and live through the trials and tribulations, with self-confidence. You are sure to reach the portals of success. The age 15-20 is the formative period of one’s life. The important concern for the parents in the present times is the future of their children. The tendency of the younger generation towards violence is causing worry to the parents, the teachers, the social scientists and the government that is supposed to care! A parent counseling their child has become the issue of the past. Parents have no time to interact with children. Can the children take their own decisions at this age as for their future? If the process of molding the character of children is not given a firm shape at this age, perhaps the future possibilities of doing so are grim. In the present circumstances, the children need to be given moral and spiritual training. That is the guarantee for a healthy and virtuous future generation. Spirituality at the young age! Is it not an after-retirement project in this modern internet age! Many intellectuals pose this question –unfortunately though! These argumentative Toms later regret when the incorrigible adults challenge their authority and go against the wishes of the elders and make a mess of their lives. Turn on any TV channel, or read the pages of newspapers. You will get enough evidence for the unfortunate violence-ridden happenings and the performers are mostly the youngsters. The percentage of the youngsters who take to alcohol and drug addition is ever on the increase. Money and material possessions make or break life! Compare life to a flowing river. If the water level is very low, one does not enjoy the beauty of a feely and majestically flowing river. Similarly those who fail to achieve money and material possessions in life and say they are no good- it is just like the fox saying that the grapes are sour, when it failed to reach up to the bunch. You must earn wealth to know its utility and futility. Your wealth can contribute to the success of others provided you use of it like a philanthropist. Judicious charity is twice blessed; it blesses the giver as well as the receiver. You get inner peace and strength and enjoy success, when you help others with a sense of responsibility and generosity. Theory knowledge vs. practical application: Assume that one has the theoretical knowledge on the contributing factors to success, like the strong desire, will power, concentration, visualization, self-discipline and persistence. But mere knowledge of these ideas, without knowing the merit and timing of their practical application will not take you to success. An oriental philosopher says about success: “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, and live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” Listen to your inner voice and live up to your convictions. Work hard and intelligently to deserve the blessings of that Omniscient Power to achieve success. You get what you deserve in life! Should you believe in God to achieve success? “You need not”! Well, I too was part of the combustible younger generation and I thought that it was not necessary to believe in God, whether He is there or not, to achieve success in life. How can God manage millions of success-crazy youngsters? Has He time to care for all of them?-If He exists, what does it matter for Him whether we believe in Him or not? Yes, I thought so, before I read this content: “This happened in Germany. A surgeon of international fame, asked the Perfect Master (the Realized Soul), how God can exist in the human body. “I have performed thousands of surgeries, and practically dissected each and every part of the human anatomy. I did not see God.” “Is it so?” asked the Realized Soul. You must have come across emotions like greed, love anger etc. while cutting the parts of the body.” “Silly! How that is possible? Those are mind-level emotions and do not have existence as such,” said the surgeon. “Well, they do have existence. But you can not see them. God or the science of soul transcends the mind. God has to be experienced as per the revelations and procedures laid down in the sacred texts!” said the Realized Soul. What you do is not important; how you do, what you do is important to achieve success in life. My ex- boss (General Manager in a Commercial Bank) is fond of relating this “success story” often. “Look at the plight of this University Gold Medalist. I have countless shining brass medallions to my credit, but now most of the polish is gone. My younger brother was often scolded by the parents for his poor grades, and the best way to find peace, he thought, was to give up studies. Against the wise-counsel and rebuke from parents and all concerned, he stood to his ground and took bank finance for a taxi. He was the owner-driver, and we thought he has put the family reputation to shame! When I was doing my first job after graduation, he owned 4 taxies and a truck. And today he owns a fleet of 40 trucks and has 100 cabs in his car-hire company, and the total staff working under him is about 400. Just a matriculate but he had the strong desire to succeed! A bunch of academic or professional degrees that you add to your name may not guarantee you success. They could be your bread-winners. What comes to your mind when you think of success?-the things you do not have and the things others have!—Think! Conclusion: In fine, whatever is the adverse situation, do not throw up the towel. You are not defeated, unless you admit defeat! Howsoever powerful may be the waves, know for certain that their real nature is mere water! “Success demands you must go where you’ve never gone before by doing what you’ve never done before.” Understand perfectly well that money is the by-product of living a successful life—not the measure...and finally, look. You have reached the goal of your success……. Many of your former critics have already assembled in the galleries to applaud you! *************** Read More
