People's opinions differ greatly, as not all inhabitants of New York are looking forward to seeing the building being constructed there. I strongly believe that the Cordoba building should be moved elsewhere. This would be a very sensible step; it would prevent unrest from taking place. Many lives may also be lost in that unrest, hence it is in the best interest of everyone to move the building elsewhere.

Based on the First Amendment to the United States, which is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment guarantees freedom of religion, free exercise of religion, and freedom of speech. American society is diverse and is made up of people belonging to different religions. Cordoba houses can be built anywhere, even two blocks from ground zero. They do have the right that guarantees by the first amendment, but it does not mean they have the right they can make it right. This relates to human morality. The majority of people, especially those families whose members died on September 11, feel that the Mosque is a “slap in the face” for them and society in general. This building will always remind me of events taking place on that terrible date, and the darkest day in American history. The life of people who suffered from those events would become terrible nightmares.

Park 51 was initiated by both American and Muslim representatives to build the proper relations between these two nations and to enhance the place of religion in the life of people but it was funded by Muslims. It was stated that the Cordoba House project calls for a “15-story community center including a mosque, a temple, a worship place for the Christian community and Catholic, performance art center, gym, swimming pool, and other public spaces” (Bliman, n.d.). It sounds very great and easy to attract all communities from every religion, gender, class, and age, and to visit and build relationships with each other. The problem is why they have to build religious practice inside the building, even though they intend to build a better understanding among various faiths. Do they have to build religious practices inside the building? There is a lot of ways to unify all religion they can make events every week or month where every religion can have its workshop in one place. It is impossible to enhance the place of religion in one place. Imagine Muslims praying and worshiping in their room with a loud sound. Next to it, Christians are worshipping their God by singing with loud song and enthusiasm. Catholic and Jewish are praying with a hymn. How they are going to react to each other when they feel disturbed by other people that are worshipping their own God? It is like putting oil in water which will never mix. History has proved it time and again; it is been thousands of years since people always fight each other in the name of religion. Many people died because of that so we have to add more pages to the history of the holy war.

Everybody knows this building is a beautiful building with very proper architecture and elements, and this building will be added to beautiful constructions found in New York City. But according to a CNN Opinion Research Corporation poll, it showed that about 70 percent of all Americans oppose this plan. While only 29 percent were in favor of the park. People that want to build Park 51 should listen to this voice. They build this house based on tolerance between people. If they want to show tolerance they should consider this voice. This is like putting salt into a wound that has not been cured. It is so intolerant. If some Muslims think that they should rebuild again their religion image they should start by tolerance other people feeling and showing that they care about this voice. In 1993, Pope John Paul II asked 14 Carmelite Nuns to move their convent from just outside the Auschwitz death camp. Because they care about all the Jewish who die in that death camp. This is how tolerant people act, not just care about their feelings or their image.
