"Evidence-Based Practice Implication in Nursing" is a decent example of a paper on care.
Regardless of the specific healthcare setting, a nurse must ensure that the overarching principle for the practice is adhered to. This principle ensures that all patients, regardless of social, cultural, ethnic heritage, or individual characteristics, are provided with quality nurse care. Therefore, as a nurse initiates contact with the client, he/she should ensure that the care being offered is based on the current, up-to-date information that could be in line with the patient care. That means that nurses must always be updated and ready to indulge in evidence-based practice. Given that, hospitals always select teams of nurses who engage in evidence-based research on various diseases and best practices that can be adopted. Various approaches can be approached when conducting evidence-based research. I recently had the opportunity to chair a task force that researched the fall rates of geriatric patients and determined the best practice of the same.

As the chairperson of the task force, I introduced the members to the task, told them what we were going to investigate, and made the rules of engagement. The first step in our project was asking a question.  Here, we asked a compelling question regarding the fall rates of geriatric patients, then each member went to review all evidence to answer the question.  We then reviewed all the information gathered together, assessing the impact of each practice described by the literature. The next step was implementing appraised literature and adopting those practices on patients then evaluating the effectiveness of those practices. I urged the members of the task force to ensure that only those practices guarantee safety to patients. After the chosen practices have been evaluated, we documented the best practices based on the evidence we gathered and presented them for practice in the treatment and care of patients.

The process of collecting information and best practice in healthcare could be challenging. At times, one could work on an evidence-based project that targets specific populations and has to consider all ethical concerns. As we know, evidence-based practice is an approach that involves conducting research which could involve collecting, analyzing, and reporting on projects. Ethics should be considered from the initial stages of planning evidence-based research and all throughout the entire process.

To incorporate ethics in data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings of the evidence-based project, I will ensure that the generation of evidence is accurate. Evidence-based decision-making requires good evidence which generates a need for high-quality research studies. Therefore, the most appropriate way to show whether the intervention worked is by conducting a controlled study that compares both interventions.  When conducting the research, the population should consent to be part of the trial and their identity hidden. Furthermore, patient-doctor confidentiality should be maintained as the process is still a therapeutic one hence nursing care ethics should be followed. Additionally, all stages of data collection and analysis should be documented appropriately so that the research process is transparent and that there is an audit trail. Finally, the research should accommodate the needs of all, and that the findings should not be centered towards a specific outcome. When formulating a report on the findings, the findings should be objective and clear to all so that they can be used by a wide range of persons. This will ensure that both the researchers and the population are satisfied with the process.
