My pursuit of a career in nursing informatics will help me to advance in education and become a policymaker in this industry. I am interested in pursuing a career in nursing informatics as public health informatics. I seek to advance my education to the master’s level in health informatics. This will enable me to become an informatics nurse specialist, public health informatics (University Maryland School of Nursing, 2015). This specific area will help me to concentrate on gathering, analyzing, and accessing information and knowledge that relate to my community and population health for everybody.

Moreover, public health informatics will empower me to address the information needs of policymakers and other public health specialists in my community (Thede & Sewell, 2012). I will also gain good remuneration and the capacity to share crucial health information with state and local public health facilities (University Maryland School of Nursing, 2015). I will share information about health hazards thus preventing disease outbreaks and disasters in my locality. I will work on special health assignments and may get an opportunity to work for government agencies like CDC (University Maryland School of Nursing, 2015).
