This South African roundabout HIV/Aids initiative was launched in response to the growing concern of the increasing cases of the Aids epidemic. The researcher would seek to gain knowledge about how governance can influence the efforts of different stakeholders to achieve the desired goals of this project, which is aimed at educating the poorer families of the risks of this deadly disease. The researcher can as well gain knowledge about how engineering development can benefit the society through reduction of the effects of poverty.

The major aim of the researcher is gaining knowledge about how such projects in the fight against poverty can be implemented. This would also improve the understanding of how research in engineering can be effectively harnessed as a means of empowering the people of the local communities. This can be done through monitoring the activities of all stakeholders involved inorder to make necessary adjustments in such projects should there be any need especially in this particular field of engineering.

The other aim will also involve monitoring if the people of the local communities are really benefiting from the water project which can stimulate the development of other community based projects. A stakeholder is any person who is either directly or indirectly affected by activities of a certain project. Therefore, in this particular case there are mainly two categories of stakeholders which include beneficiaries and providers of service. The beneficiaries are the members of the community and children while the providers include the donors, charity organizations, commercial advertisers as well as the South African government.
