wood as a small district which in the beginning existed as a place for agriculture, and the development towards a modern place for restaurants and clubs came only after the effect of World War I , which had a distressing effect over the European film industry. This gave a good chance for the Hollywood to choose a place for establishing its power. After that particularly during 1920s Hollywood acquired dominance in the world of films. The success of the American films in their own country as well as other countries like Europe, Spain etc had been due to economic factors also.

The economic factors are advertising, production, distribution authority and the advent of many box office hits during that time laid a strong underpinning for Hollywood’s dominance over the other countries’ film world. The Marxist’s theorists felt that media as a whole gained more significance and freedom during the end of World War I. An article on the theories of Marxists’ Theory of Political Economy Of Media [2006] say that “Marxists theorists see the role of the mass media as one that maintains “Advertising” says Edward S.

Herman [1989]“has colonized the United States Mass media and is responsible for most of the media’s income” in an interview with Robert W. Machesney. The development of advertising and the advent of television and graphics used in cinema help a lot in attracting the mass and which in turn bestowed Hollywood with a large financial outcome. Advertising could be considered as one of the main economic reasons behind the dominance of Hollywood and other media. The dominance of Hollywood has been felt by many critics and writers, the literatures over the concerned topic also reflect the same view that Hollywood is indeed dominating the world economically.
