Running head: Differential Performance Analysis of of Kentucky Hazard and Prestonsburg Graduates Differential Performance Analysis of University of Kentucky Hazard and Prestonsburg Graduates Insert Name Insert Course Title Insert Instructor’s Name 04 October 2011 Outline Abstract Purpose Methods Results Conclusion Introduction: Literature Review Methods Research Design Variable and Data Analysis Results Differential Performance Analysis of University of Kentucky Hazard and Prestonsburg Graduates Purpose The research seeks to gather information concerning graduates of the University of Kentucky Hazard campus and Prestonsburg Kentucky campus. This will enhance making clear comparison between the social work Masters Program graduates from the University of Kentucky Hazard campus and the Prestonsburg Kentucky campus. Methods The process of gathering information will rely on primary information obtained from the graduates of the social work masters program from both campuses through questionnaires. In addition, representative graduate’s information will be drawn from alumni students who graduated in from the year 2000 and new classes graduating every two years after. This research will be based on approximately a hundred and forty graduates of the social work masters program from both campuses. Information of respondent candidates who will be reached will represent the different outcomes between the two campuses with regards to their participation and progress in the community. The research seeks to gather information from both female and male graduates to equally represent all graduates of the two campuses. Results The results may be consistent with the hypothesis of the author. We suspect that graduates from the Prestonsburg Kentucky campus are more active in their community volunteer projects than graduates from the Kentucky Hazard campus are. More graduates of the University of Prestonsburg Kentucky campus social work masters program are probably licensed clinical social workers and may be more involved in the National Association of Social Work as than graduates of the Social work masters program from the Kentucky Hazard campus. Conclusion The research seeks to come up with tangible evidence concerning field applications of the program. The results points out why MSW graduates of the Kentucky MSW Hazard campus should be encouraged to engage themselves in more meaningful community volunteer activities and the National Association of social work. The research also highlights the reasons why the program should incorporate measures of encouraging and motivating its students to be more involved with activities of social work after successful completion of the program. Literature Review According to Kentucky annual report (2009, p25), alumni of the social work programs engage in humanitarian activities such as caring for the elderly, school social work, and mental health counseling. However, the hazard program is proved to have limitations in graduate field applications with regards to community volunteer programs. Moreover, some MSW graduates are found to be less involved in the community volunteer projects and National Association of Social Workers. University administrations have introduced policies that enable social work program students to participate in community activities and National association of social work. The programs have increased graduate involvement in volunteer community projects through forums and extra curricular activity participation in social awareness. This program seeks to create a social and learning environment to build students practical engagements in social work alongside their theoretical knowledge (Annual Report, 2007, p23). Social work program MSW graduates from the University of Kentucky specific programs such as co-operative education enable graduate students to be more involved in volunteer community projects. In addition, Co-operative education program in social work enables students to advance in their studies while integrating practical and theoretical social work. Such programs have been developed by a college of alumnus that has first hand experience in applying their learned theoretical knowledge in the practical field. The alumnus college came up with this program in an effort to improve the social work programs of Kentucky University for the benefit of the current and upcoming students during their community and National Association of Social Work involvement (Kentucky Annual Report, 2005, p19). Methods The process of gathering information will rely on primary information obtained from graduates of the social work masters program from both campuses through questionnaires. Representative graduates’ information will drawn from different communities. For this research, questionnaires are issued to 140 graduates of the social work masters programs who graduated in the 2000 and two years consecutively after. Not all graduates are expected to respond and not all graduates who respond are expected to give true information. The graduates have been randomly selected to represent the different outcomes between the two campuses with regards to their participation and progress in the community. The research seeks to gather information from both female and male graduates to equally represent all graduates of the campuses. Research Design The research will involve data collection pattern through the use of questionnaires that will be filled in by 140 graduates of the social work program from the University of Kentucky Hazard campus and the Prestonsburg Kentucky campus. The questionnaires will be filled through telephone conversations with the graduates themselves. Graduates who are in close vicinity will be given the questionnaires to fill in during their own free time. The following questionnaires are to be filled with first hand information concerning the graduates of the social work programs. Variables and Data Analysis The questionnaires will be presented to the graduates on individual basis where they will be requested to give their own individual information without altering or modifying. The graduates will be informed that the information they give will be private and confidential and that the information will be used in improving the standards of the social work masters program. The behavior of the graduates will be assessed to ascertain that the information provided is true and relevant to study. Their will be follow-ups in the national association of social work and the licensing board to ascertain claims of national associations involvement and licensed clinical officers. After confirmation, the questionnaires that contain information that I have proved to be true and relevant are laid down for thorough analysis. I will analyze each questionnaire step by step with regards to the graduate’s involvement in the National Association of Social Work, community volunteer projects and what number of graduates and from which program are Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Results The expected results are that, graduates of Prestonsburg Kentucky campus are more active in their community volunteer projects as compared to graduates of Kentucky Hazard campus. It is also expected that more graduates of Prestonsburg campus are involved in the National Association of Social Work and are Licensed Clinical Social Workers than graduates of Kentucky Hazard campus. .
