TOURISM BUSINESS STRUCTURE The aim of tourism business is to attract citizens of other nations for visiting your country. Attraction of foreign citizens helps to boost the economy of the nation. Every country has its own strategy concerning with the method required to welcome citizens of other nations. They do it by highlighting the best their country has to offer. This requires thorough research of country’s assets including scenic beauty, cultural hotspots which often reflect the historical heritage. The main aim of tourism business is to attract tourists towards your country for various interests. Tourism has been a main source of income for many countries. All such countries have set their strategies related to tourism. There are many factors which attract tourists. It includes attractive and beautiful sceneries, historical places and cultural attraction. But other things also influence the market flow of tourism including security, transports facilities in county and accommodation. TOURISM BUSINESS STRATEGY If tourism business is well planned then it plays very important role in forming popularity of country and respectable image; plus it supports the country’s economy as well. That is why business tourism is an important factor to look upon. Therefore it should be well planned with good strategy. TOURIST SUPPLY CHAIN: To understand a tourist business strategy; Here is a tourist supply chain. Tourist supply chain means all the people and factors which are involved in giving services and products to consumers (tourist). It involves all those services and factors which influence or run the business of tourism. Either they are direct or indirect they are the part of the supply chain. Main factors of tourist supply chain has five parts 1. Private sector services 2. Government sector services 3. Transportation 4. Accommodation 5. Attraction (slideshare.net, 2011) PRIVATE SECTOR SERVICES: Private sector services are very important in tourism as they provide extra facilities to tourists and make the tourism plan complete. Private sectors are those sectors which are not run by the government. The main common services a private sector provides in tourism are such as tourist guides, travel agents, motels and accommodations, holiday packages and travel insurances. GOVERMANT SECTOR SERVICES: Government sectors are the main pillar of tourism business as it provides main base to the tourism of any country. They provide security, maintenance and care to tourist sites, make policies related to tourism and provide visa etc. Some government tourist sectors are national and regional tourist boards (NBTs and RBTs), tourist information centers (TIC), and visa and passport offices. ACCOMODATION: Accommodation comes under both private and government sector programs as there are government funded motels and accommodations as well, which usually come under the national tourism schemes and other are private motels, hotels or other hostels. Accommodation like tourist plans also has a vast profile as it provides accommodation in different price ranges. ATTRACTION: Tourist attractions includes all the places which are unique, beautiful and have certain specialties like historical places and popular features. INFLUENCE OF TOURISM BUSINESS IN COMMUNICATION AND DECISION MAKING: For tourist a secure tourist plan makes his decision easy and fast. It strongly depends on features which we have discussed above; as tourist needs a good and secure package when it comes to travelling to a foreign country. A tourist is going to look on security and every aspect which s/he will face or would need to face in the country s/he is going to travel. Such factors include security, public facilities, norm and culture of the country, accommodation, transport, climate etc. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS INFLUENCE TOURISM BUSINESSES Environment is another very important factor which influences business flow of tourism in country. There are many environmental factors which influence tourism business in both positive and negative way. Some important factors are discussed below. 1. NATIONAL FESTIVALS: every county has its own national/religious festivals which are celebrated in their own traditional ways. These festivals become great attraction for tourist as tourist always want to explore the true essence of county. So a country tourism business also takes its peak when the famous national/religious festivals are around. 2. NATIVE ART AND CRAFT: the other intriguing attraction for tourist is the native art and craft of the county. The more the country promotes its art and craft the more tourists get attracted towards it. 3. FAMOUS NATURAL OR MAN MADE FEATURE: there are many popular sites in the world. These sites include both manmade and natural spots. These sites are another great attraction for tourism. So the more these sites are promoted and popularized the more tourists are eager to visit and see them. 4. FACILITIES: Tourists prefer to travel to those countries which have proper facilities and secure environment. A tourist looks for packages which provide them the opportunity to explore the site and also give them a comfortable accommodation and traveling. (The Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), 2011) MYSELF WORKING AS A MANAGER IN TOURISM For the betterment of tourism business I would use the six sigma theory and Crosby’s theory of management. These both theories aim and strive for the betterment in the structure and product of business. To make the tourism popular in county, one has to strive for the perfection of country image. The promotion of own culture, trends, crafts, sites and places is very important. The national culture and festivals around different regions should be promoted worldwide. And here mass media should play its stronger role. Six sigma theories basically aim to measure the quality of things which should be gained for perfection. So if we see its basic aim in tourism business then we can say that according to the application of this theory, the organizer should aim for perfection. (iSixSigma, 2010) According to the jobsite survey result I m ‘survivor’; and as a survivor, I have a strong focus, which helps me to reach the goals and marked up plans easily and efficiently. (Jobsite) As in tourism business we can also quote the Darwin theory of survival of fittest. That business will take its peak whose management and structure would be perfect and what matters more than the management is that how you advertise and attract the customer towards what you are offering.
