Economic growth occurred prior to the 19th Century, but comparatively slowly. It was at that point that Western Europe, in contrast to most of the rest of the world, began to experience significant economic growth. Modern economic practices, western values and westernization is a process whereby traditional, long-established societies come under the influence of Western culture in such matters as industry, technology, law, politics, economics, lifestyle, diet, language, alphabet, religion and values.

Westernization has been a pervasive and accelerating influence across the world in the last few centuries. (Answers.Com) Taiwan and Kenya. Today Taiwan is 20 times richer than Kenya. We meet the farmers shut its door to globalisation. The Kenyans are suffering from regulations, corruption and the lack of property rights. The unequal distribution in the world is a result of the unequal distribution of capitalism - those who have capitalism grow rich, those who don't stay poor. and entrepreneurs that could develop Taiwan because it introduced a market economy and integrated into global trade.

And we meet the Kenyan farmers and slum dwellers that are still desperately poor, because Kenya shut its door to globalisation. The Kenyans are suffering from regulations, corruption and the lack of property rights. The unequal distribution in the world is a result of the unequal distribution of capitalism - those who have capitalism grow rich, those who don't stay poor. and entrepreneurs that could develop Taiwan because it introduced a market economy and integrated into global trade. Westernization as globalization is seen by some as progress, as for instance democracy and free trade spread gradually throughout the world. Some people view westernization however as a disadvantage. The key problem for the poorest countries is that poverty itself can be a trap.

When poverty is very extreme, the poor do not have the ability-by themselves-to get out of the messThe present generation lives under the international system based on the belief in global unity; which will eventually enable the world to organize its affairs from the viewpoint of international character. This is an important achievement of twentieth century. Capitalism has been successful in nurturing technological innovation, in promoting initiative, and in creating wealth and increasing poverty.

Many economists are agreed that in general capitalism can be a powerful engine for development. But, political interests and specific forms of capitalism can have different results. The monopoly capitalism of the colonial era for example was very destructive. Likewise, there is growing criticism of the current model of corporate and its version of globalization and capitalism that has resulted. There may indeed be merit to various arguments supporting global integration and cooperation. But politics, corruption, geopolitics, as well as numerous other factors need to be added to economic models, which could prove very difficult.
