This paper is going to analyze FirstTouch Soccer Academy, a business in the field of sporting which offers talent training to young people in the field of sports. Managing an institution like an academy requires special skills for handling people due to emotions, needs and thoughts of different children who are interested in sports. Vision To become the premier sports academy of choice to young teenagers who aspire to nurture and advance talents through sports and provide quality services unrivalled by any competitor in the field of sports training globally. FirstTouch Soccer Academy focuses on technical, tactical, physical and psychological requirements of the game at each age level. But more importantly, they focus on the child as an individual and not just as a player on a team Mission Statement Our goal is to provide the best service in training young people of ages 7-15 to play, learn and share through the beautiful game of soccer, and draw important skills and life lessons from sport of soccer. In addition, the academy will promote character and positive reinforcement to private and public educational institutions, to promote self-steam, build work ethic, and increase quality of life in the communities. Strategic Plan FirstTouch Soccer Academy is engaged in the business of sports talent training through its sports facilities located in the Los Angeles area in the state of California. The academy caters to the needs of its clients who are mainly made up of young boys and girls between the ages 7-15 yrs. The academy was established to provide an environment where young people can learn the sports of soccer, basketball, athletics, swimming and tennis and through training they could perfect the skills learnt in the sport to enrich their lives. The organization’s main strategy was to establish itself as the premier sports academy in the United States and the globe. The academy also offers other niche services not found in other sports academies such as educational talks, motivation talks and gym services offered to non students of the academy. The academy decided to focus on soccer due to the fact that it is an all round sport that is most enjoyed by all youths globally and the ease of participating in soccer (Wittmann, 2008) In achieving its strategic goals the organization has been guided by values, ethics and development of customer centric services as part of staying true to its mission and visions. The true values that FirstTouch Soccer Academy cherishes the most include promoting talents, promoting social cohesion, instilling discipline through sports and building self motivation through hard work. The academy’s strategy is to eventually become a sports academy of choice and to achieve this; the academy came up with a curriculum that ensures young students engage in sports in a social environment. The academy intends to promote equality through sports, the academy as part of its strategy is to give a chance to all young people from different backgrounds, races and countries to participate in their sporting activities. One of the most important values of the academy is to give back to the community within where it is located; this is done by offering community service to the community and also by enrolling some students from the neighbouring communities. Soccer being the most popular sport in the world, the phenomena has yet to catch up in the United States, therefore as an academy we have made sure that in the Los Angeles area is popularised among the young people by offering quality services. FirstTouch Soccer Academy aims at instilling the values of patience, love and hard work as part of life skills to be learnt by young people through participation in soccer. Through participation in soccer and other sports, young people learn to socialize, share experiences and build friendships which are important building blocks for a healthy life development for young people. The academy realises this and therefore creates opportunities for young people to enjoy themselves through sports (Bryson, 2004). Customer satisfaction The process of managing any business is to come up with a strategic plan which closely addresses the needs of your customers with the potential of attracting new customers. Customer satisfaction goes a long way in understanding the potential market and helps in developing products or services which ensure your organization stays ahead of the competition. Managing a sports academy in the Los Angeles area is challenging and as a result FirstTouch Soccer Academy as come up with strategies such club placements for its top performing athletes. The academy also encouraged competition among its students to ensure that young people work hard in sports and thus they end up working hard in other endeavours in their lives. By sticking to its core strategies and values the academy intends to build a customer social responsibility program by enrolling talented young people from under privileged societies and therefore giving them a chance to participate actively in sports (Allison, 2005). The academy has also made plans to improve its services by offering niche services such as inviting established sportsmen to encourage young people to take up sports and offer young people on advice on life. The greater Los Angeles area is home to many large sports teams like the Los Angeles Rams and LA Galaxy, therefore by offering top performing students tickets to attend league games to their favourite teams motivates them more to work hard in sports. Other strategies developed to create a competitive edge over our competitors is that the academy has partnered with many established colleges and institutions to offer educational scholarships to students who perform well in their studies and are enrolled with the academy. As a result many students end up working hard in their studies and this has been exhibited by the good results that students in the academy achieve. As a way of promoting and recognizing the effect of soccer in the world, the academy has planned to partner with young teams for well established soccer clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona and Arsenal to recruit students who the clubs are interested in. The game of soccer being the most played sport worldwide needs special governing and this is done by FIFA (Federation of International Football Federations). Due to this the academy in part of its strategy of providing varied services has established a program where the academy can offer training to young people in coaching football teams or governing football bodies. This activity is done by assigning young students roles for coaching their small respective teams while at the academy. Conclusion In a business, coming up with core strategies, mission and vision programs are very important building blocks to establishing a business. The mission and vision statements are tools used best to explain the goals, strategies and image of your business. FirstTouch Soccer Academy mission and visions attest to the fact that they are striving hard to build a reputable soccer academy in Los Angeles and it has an ambition to be the best academy in the globe. FirstTouch Soccer Academy’s strategies and values may in the end up helping the organization to build its image and encourage young to participate in sports and especially soccer. But above all the mission and values underlined by the academy will aid young people to enjoy playing soccer in Los Angeles and in overall benefit the society. References Allison, M. J., & Kaye, J.
