Action Plan for Electrical Installation Process Student’s Name Instructor’s Name Course Code Date Introduction Action plan is the steps which are followed by the contractor to complete a given task or job within a specific time interval. The activities and the personnel required to accomplish the task are included according to their responsibilities before the work is done (Bryson, page123). The action plan is to provide appropriate framework for installing the electricity in the house without increasing the risks associated with the process (Lord, page 241). This electricity hazards can be caused by the installation problems due to employment of unqualified electricians and poor repairs of electric appliances in the house. The action plan is concerned with the specific rules needed for the management of risks which are caused by the wrong use of electricity in the house. The Scope This action plan is designed to capture the safety plans that are outlined by the ministry of energy, oriented to minimize the dangers which are associated with the electricity hazards towards the consumers (McGraw, page 56). These hazards are caused by poor installation of electricity in the house. It is therefore a policy to use the action plan in all the section of the house in which all the installation operations are being undertaken by the appropriate personnel. Action Plan Objective: To complete the installation process successfully. TO ACHIEVE THIS I NEED TO:  list down the steps to be used by specifying then in details. I will even consult some experts to guide me on the steps to increase the degree of outcome. Steps Methods used to achieve Resources and support Time line Expected outcome Responsibilities Step1 .Assemble all the electrical tools Bring all the important tools needed to accomplish the electrical installation process such as pliers, side cutters, electrical tape and wire stripper. Wires, switches, Bulbs and circuit breakers. The step is done by senior electrician I will start my action plan on 5th September 2012 To know the cost of buying all the equipment for use during the installation. To avail all the materials ready for use To buy the equipments, Count all of the materials to reduce unexpected shortages Step 2.Sketch electrical plan Examine and design what has been sketched and arrange it procedurally to make the work easy. Break the circuit when there is excess current passing in the wires. Perform the installation process. What problems likely to come by? What should I use to solve them? Fear of the electric hazards common during the installation process. Availability of procrastination for several years and now I have decided that I should take a step of faith to accomplish my goal Methods of Developing and Confirming KPLs with the Appointed Staffs Up front Participation of Installation Staffs In the installation process there are very many steps which are completed for the company to get accurate result and therefore the staff members are to complete each stage to give room for the start of the next step. All the staff for installation process is allowed to take part in the making target and KPLs contracts allows the staff members to be conversant with the steps they are to follow in due course. Performance Standards and Code of Conduct of Employees The organization must ensure that the candidates recruited are people of sound behavior and rationality. This makes the company to have staff members who can trust the role of the organization. It is always necessary to bring into the attention of certain character that infringes the values of the company. The detection of such behaviors forces the management to hold a discussion with the parties involved and therefore the company will have the chance to address their concern to solve the arising problems. The company has developed channels through which people report their issues where the manager is the best facility top receive the report. The code of conduct is maintained through the following In-depth search of misconduct All the suggested misconduct are taken with serious attention where all the allegations are confidently looked into to ascertain whether any form of lawlessness and violation of company code of conducts have not been complied with. There is also a safe to speak culture in the organization where the employees are allowed to retaliate. This will help the organization to enforce a culture of ensuring that all the employees are responsible of working in a safe environment. The use of a safe to speak up culture allows all the staff members to develop a culture of having open talk touching issues that negatively affect the reputation of the company. The managers are responsible to lead in this by accepting free talks and questions about circumstances in which the employees feel that there is violation of the values of the company. Selection of Staff in Line with the Organizational Strategic Plan The selection of the staff members is aligned with the organization strategic plan by selecting the staff members who are able to meet the organizational strategies which are to ensure that there is no electric hazards which can affect the staffs and other visitors (Horkan and Elizabeth, page 320). The selected candidates must also have the correct qualification and experience to do the quality work which can satisfy the demands of the client (Aristotle, page 34). They must eligible and efficient to finish the electrical installation in the shortest time possible with the minimum resources to reduce the cost of the work and minimize damages. Methods of Allocating Responsibilities to Electrical Installation Work The assignment of responsibilities is the processes of allocating a particular task to those who have been assigned top do the unit job. The supervisor is responsible for ascertaining the necessary skills and ability to do the task in appropriate manner. It is also his responsibility to do the employees assessment to ascertain who is a qualified candidate for a particular unit of work in the installation process and to involve in the task assignment to individuals who can perform it perfectly. During the task assignment the supervisor must consider the ability of the employee to deliver on the job and the kind of assignment has the highest possibility of providing the highest challenges and more advantages to its employees at appropriate time Barry. The method used to allocate responsibilities to the task of electrical installation is traditional method. The method considers level of experience and being seniority and therefore those who have been in the job for along time and more aged are to be in top positions. The gender is also considered when assigning responsibilities in the organization this is because different task requires a different gender. Tasks which involve use of a lot of energy require male in their performance and those that consumes less energy are done by females. Responsibilities are also allocated by the supervisors according to qualification where employees with higher education gets better positions than those who are less educated and therefore the eligibility of employees depends on the level of education and experience. The level of education is used to select the personnel who are to do the most sensitive tasks of installation (Whitney and Cheng, page 45). The contribution of the existing employees is also used to allocate the responsibility to the staffs. This involvement in the job and the level of contribution of employees also indicate the ability, eligibility and suitability for the employees for a particular task in a unit work. The facility also used the normal job assignment criteria which assess the qualification, experience, referees and acceptability at evaluation process during the recruitment process to identify who to fill a particular position in the organization. The model shown is used to help in the assignment of responsibilities to employees and it is able to identify the eligibility of the required personnel in the organization. Risk Assessment of Electrical Installation The common hazards which are associated with the electrical installation are shocks and burns which results from touching live wires, fire outbreak originating from damaged electrical equipment and bursting of unsuitable electrical equipment which can start static flames in the house. The shocks which are influenced by electricity can also cause other types of damages like collapse from the ladder during the installation process and therefore should be avoided by using appropriate precaution. Control Electric assessment must be done for all the electrical hazards which are to comprise of the personnel who could be affected by the hazards, the degree of risk which has been reached during the assessment and finally the necessary control measures to reduce the effect of the hazard. The assessment must take into account the kind of electric equipment which are used to install the electricity in the house, the manner in which the equipment s are used and the surroundings where they are used in (Barry, page 36). This is to reduce the riskiness of exposing the personnel and other people to the risk of being affected by these hazards (Harremoës, page 40). The electrical installation and the tools used should be suitable for the purpose they are bought for and their condition must also suit the contractor’s installation standards. The equipments and tools are also to be used for the only projected use so as to reduce the chances of increasing the risk associated with the electrical installation in the building. It is very risky to use unsuitable facilities in wet regions because there is possibility of that equipment becoming and therefore the fuse and other electric devises must be rated well to protect the circuits which are used to protect the region (Harremoës, page 40). The installation personnel must ensure that all the equipments like fuses, isolators and fuse boxes are kept so well in a locked facility to keep them away from unauthorized use. Facilities like cables and fittings are to be robust and should be able to provide adequate security in the area where the work is ongoing and all the machines used have switches which can be reached quickly to control the fire in times of emergency. Maintenance All the electrical appliances are to be maintained well to ensure that there is a reduced risk of danger in the house during the installation process. Visual assessment is to be carried out on those who are using the electrical equipments. The equipments which are not in proper conditions after they have been checked should be made or changed if the parts or plugs used to connect them are not good, the wires are made with tapes or if its has internal wires can be seen and if there are stains which is an indication that there is heating in the inner wires. All the repairs operations are to be conducted by a qualified expert who has the necessary qualification, skills and experience to do the work with a lot of work safety without risking the lives of other users (Whitney and Cheng, page 45). The users are to organize for a more frequent checks for electrical equipments which are easily get damaged but those that are strong should also be checked but at appropriate intervals to know their state. The personnel to do the electrical installation must also be a competent person who has necessary training for the job to avoid unnecessary dangers to themselves and other members in the house (Berkowitz, page 456). This person must have been undergone through well electrical apprenticeship with the equivalent experience to handle the work successfully without risking the lives of many in the process of installation. The work which demands for a special attention such as repairing high voltage gadgets require a specialist who has more than basic electrical knowledge. This ensures that the dangers which are likely to occur are reduced when he is engaged to do the maintenance. Conclusion Action plan is the procedures on how the activities of a task are completed .The electrical installation work involves ten stages to be completed when all the necessary work force is available. This will ensures that the objective of installing the facility in the organization is achieved at the right time. The risks which are also associated with the employment of unqualified staff can also provide great danger to the organization .Such hazards includes electric shock and bursting of electric equipments which can cause destructive incidences in the organization.
