Tesco PLC is one of the largest retailers in the world with more than 2300 stores and supermarkets. The total revenue generated states that Tesco Plc. is second largest in the world after Wal-Mart. The main effective policy implemented by Tesco is to ensure the balance of different people in its workforce. This essay will discuss about the importance of diversity strategy implemented in Tesco plc. Discussion The example of organization implementing workforce diversity is Tesco plc. The diversity in workplace can help to foster the mutual respect from employees and business gains. The diversity strategy of Tesco is central. It defines through the objectives of the organization by approach on training and recruitment. Tesco has the market awareness about the competitors such as Asda and Sainsbury’s. The identification of core competencies by Tesco such as providing access to the wider markets, contribution to the customer who perceived benefits and highlighting the need of the core competencies helped to control the intensity of completion in external environment. Internal environment of the Tesco is maintained by the effective communication and on-going meetings at every hierarchy level of the company (Pearson, 2008, p.43). Communication has become imperative part for every business operation to be successful. Therefore, the organizational leaders are trying to enhance effective communication process between employees and top level management. The motivational process in relation to individual in organization is the basic psychological process. The motivation strategies implemented by Tesco is by providing fringe benefits and rewards to motivate employees. Recently the management of Tesco is trying to motivate its diverse workforce by ensuring appropriate performance appraisal and reward distribution. The use of organizational and working skills is the main job of every individual. Rewards and pay rise and certain benefits can foster employees to implement their skills is better possible way. The business strategy of Tesco is to relate people management. It is related as the excellence of people. The excellence of people is created by building culture of high effective performance.
