General Manager - Essay Example

I am writing to apply for the job position, as a general manager, in your organization. I am currently a self-employed General Manager at a construction company.  Even, though, I would love to continue managing, and running my own business, I think it is time I get the chance to learn new things from other people through working with people who are experienced in the sector and to share my skills too. I am capable to manage a company because of the experience I have had in my company. I have the skills required for a manager since, as stated in my resume; I have managed a construction project from its initial stages to its completion. I have good financial management abilities since I have ensured the success of a project, despite the minimum amount of finances that were available because of my skills and knowledge in management. My hope has been to work as a general manager full-time, even, though; I have a degree in Art from Qatar University.

The main factor that encouraged me to be interested in this subject is the need to be able to face challenges in my career, and learn to be responsible through learning how to manage, and be responsible for major projects. For one to succeed in business, or any project, it is essential that one knows how to handle and manage issues that arise in the day-to-day activities of the career. Through my experience, and the abilities I have earned through working with people and learning to manage people, I believe I am the best candidate for the position have deduced that management is extremely valuable since it teaches members the importance of teamwork in meeting the deadlines; thus, learning how to manage time and people. I understand that a lack of proper management leads to poor performance, which leads to failure. I am a person who does not believe in failure; thus, I believe in putting my best efforts into everything I decide to do and not giving failure a chance. If you give me the opportunity to work in your company, I will ensure the best running of the company.

I have experienced firsthand how poor management would destroy any project or vital business through the construction projects that I have been managing, and I am sure that this experience has given me more wisdom on how to handle things in case a management problem occurs. Thus, my request is to get this chance to work and use my skills for the benefit of both the company and me as an individual. I have always hoped that one day I will be able to use my experience in the development of other companies. I believe your company gives me this opportunity to explore my skills. If you give me this opportunity, I will put all the skills I have to use and work together with others for the better of the company.
