Global Operation Question The host foreign country will face a number of issues due to the expansion of PPQ in itsmarket. It is extremely essential for PPQ to be conscious of any environmental effect its growth may have on the host foreign country. This may entail concerns associated with the use of water and landscaping for any location that will is utilized by PPQ in the company’s activities. In addition, the host foreign country will have to address its domestic wild life sector. The domestic wild life sector will be affected by the arrival of new workers in the region. Moreover, there may be disagreements between the local community and PPQ (Cateora and Graham 19). This is because PPQ will introduce new employees who will be accompanied by their family members in the host foreign country. The host foreign country will experience strain in its communities and social amenities, for example, schools. This is because the communities and social amenities where PPQ is situated will experience an enhancement in number of individuals largely from PPQ. Also, the host foreign country will experience issues associated with the unfamiliar characteristic of the dealings between employees of PPQ and the existing people of the region where PPQ has decided to establish its stores to sell their products. It is imperative that PPQ anticipates any issues that may have a negative impact on the host foreign country and device ways of dealing with them before it starts its process of expansion. Question 2 International organizations frequently go through abundant cultural issues when they extend their activities into diverse and new territories. When a company expands to new territories, its employees may have difficulties dealing with clients who are from a diverse and different culture. There is the issue of cultural sensitivity which requires the employees of the international company to accommodate the cultural practices of their clients. In addition, workers of international organizations may face difficulties in overcoming language barriers in the new areas of operation (Cateora and Graham 122). These may pose a severe challenge to the ability of workers providing adequate and sufficient services to the customers. Individuals with an identical value system, religion, beliefs, and language share a similar culture. As a result, this is imparted to every individual in the cultural system. Therefore, workers of international organizations, who are not from the same cultural system as the customers, find it difficult to comprehend the customers’ cultural system, hence affecting the process of interaction. Question 3 Diversity has become an extremely essential subject in the international field. Any knowledgeable businessperson or manager should be aware that the universe is decreasing in size due to opportunities and services facilitated by globalization. Inventions, for example, the internet has made diversity an extremely essential subject in the international field because it has made engaging in business activities in different parts of the world less complicated, and trade is making the most of the opportunities caused by being diverse. In addition, diversity has made a number of financial restraints that were in existence in the past to be eradicated as organizations are attempting to engage in business activities all over and across the universe (Cateora and Graham 159). Also, diversity has become a significant subject in the international field because people are moving from their native lands to look for employment opportunities in other areas. This is evident in areas, for example, Europe and North America where there are individuals of mixed ancestries and races. Therefore, diversity has enable individuals preserve their original identity while being part of different geographic regions. Question 4 There are a number of things that may happen if issues relating to diversity and multiculturalism are not paid attention to in a global organization. One, the international organization faces the risk of losing market share because customers become conscious of the unawareness of an organization in the global field (Russon 63). For instance, a large number of international corporations experience challenges when they attempt to extend their operations to other areas largely because they do not pay close attention to the cultural needs of the regions they are extending their operations, a fine example is Wal-Mart’s attempted expansion in to the German market, which failed. As it is mostly the case, these international companies lose a significant share of the target market, and are consequently compelled o exit the market. Question 5 Every time that a business wants to extend its business operations to different regions, there are always political and economic issues that come up and may have a negative impact on the company and its operations. Two political issues that may affect a company’s expansion into the global arena are new laws and a fraudulent administration. The operations of the company in a new area may depend on the laws of that region, which the organization may not have anticipated. For example, the laws of that region may assert that a specified number of employees and manager come from the local area. This may cause issues for organizations that plan to bring their own employees ad management. Also, a fraudulent administration where the organization is situated may want a share of the earnings before the organization begins to operate in that region. The most suitable way to handle these political issues is to prepare a proper plan before expanding into a new region (Gannon 91). Two economic issues in international expansion are the living cost of a region and the operation costs of a business. These issues determine how a business operates in the new region, for example, the price of a commodity may not be affordable to the population of a given region due to their low cost of living. The answer to these economic issues is the corporation lessens the cost of its commodities so that the underprivileged population may have the capacity to purchase them (Gannon 96). Question 6 These issues will lead to the decentering of culture in PPQ’s operations in both Germany and Japan. The influence of different cultures on each other will ease the expansion of PPQ in different parts because people will now be more culture sensitive than they previously were. The principal notion for PPQ needs to be that the extension of its services to both Germany and Japan must be mindful of the existing opinions concerning international companies (Gannon 76). This will assist PPQ in its global expansion. Works Cited Cateora, P., and Graham, J. International Marketing. Boston: Irwin, 2001. Print. Gannon, M. Understand Global Cultures (2nd ed.).
