O’Connor published “A Good Man is Hard to find for O’Connor. The two authors are similar in many ways including the fact that common geographical features, social experiences, and political phenomena influenced their art (Demas, 112). The two authors demonstrate the ability of American writers of the twentieth century to use their influences and talents to express their art in ways that captured the aspirations, fears, hopes, and challenges of the American public. The writers represented the formation of a new world order that based its realities on a balance of values.

The society in which they lived was heavily influenced by political turmoil and restive situations that affected their perspectives (Demas, 56). The American reader of the twenty-first century had grown distrustful of official government positions because they thought that the institutions of the time could not adequately defend them from the challenges of the day. As such writers such as Hemmingway and O’Connor provided alternative frames of reference to assure and encourage the disillusioned society.

The work of the two writers has introduced the study of fiction with the purpose of understanding literature and cultivating skills in textual analysis, scholarly research, documentation, and academic writing. Such skills are developed by closely reading and analyzing works of fiction and novels by well-accomplished writers such as Ernest Hemmingway and Flannery O’Connor. Though I might strike anyone as a hypocrite, spending time commenting on another’s opinions of a novel seems, well, and insufficient altercation with his/her battered and defensive ego.

These two writers are among the many writers that ever existed and their literary works have continued to make a mark in many people’s life. Their works are amazing and give the same fuzzy feeling to any reader (Demas, 34).
