? Community Based Corrections, an Issue that is Most Critical Today This is a paper which gives characteristics and environments of a human service organization, which is the Medicare Program. The paper thus gives an analysis on how the organization governed and staffed after giving its mission and vision. Some of its key stakeholders of Medicare have been enumerated and how they have been an influence on the organization. The major community collaborations and marketing and public relations strategies employed by the organization have as well been discussed and how the collaborations important to the organization and the community in general. As well, there is a demonstration of the valuing of diversity in the organization and the environmental trends faced. This serves as a good example of community based corrections, an issues that is most critical in the present day. Introduction: Characteristics and Environments of Medicare Program In a community, it is necessary to have all needs exampleof the people catered for. In an urban setting, there are very many needs which have to be considered and be put in place. For instance, in a city of five thousand people, it is necessary to have all considerations put in place in a manner which solves the major needs and requirements for all. Whenever planning a new urban setting, all human needs should be appropriately considered. The major needs in such a setting include water availability, electricity, sanitation, health services, jobs, building types, transportation systems, and recreational land. These are some of the issues every community faces in the recent period. However, in this paper we will examine certain programs, which are symbolic of the issues being faced recently. The use of examples and relevant illustrations as well as organizations has been cited to shed light on the issue accordingly. Human service organizations should be able to come up with appropriate programs and environments which have the capability of meeting the basic needs for the clients and the society in particular. This can be achieved through having intellectual characteristics which shall help in building a better environment which promotes the human services being offered from the organization (Brian, 2009). For instance, the Medicaid and Medicare programs in the United States are very important in ensuring that the country has been given within the necessary services. Generally, there is a very big importance with the appropriateness of characteristics and environment for all human service organizations (Medicare Program, 2008). This paper will thus discuss in details the characteristics and the environment of Medicare Program in United States of America. Medicare Vision and Mission For any kind of organization which is offering human services such as the Medicare Program, there is a very big necessity of coming up with appropriate missions and visions statement which keep a good characteristic and a better environment for the organization. This as well ensures that proper operations being done in the organization are always aimed in the realization of the organization’s goals and objectives (Taylor, 2008). The Vision of Medicare has been the provision of a program which has to be of high quality, purely equitable as well as a sustainable health program which shall meet the needs and expressions of all the people in United States. Such a vision has been playing a major role in elevating the services which are on offer by the organization (Marmor, 2000). The Mission as well has been in making sure that the best voice and care has been given to all the people of the country and as well strengthen the health care system of the country through improved healthcare access and equitable future health care for all. Medicare Organization: Governance and Staffing In this organization, governance and staffing have been seriously undertaken in order to ensure that the right environment has been created which sees all the people being given the necessary healthcare and attention. There are managers and directors whose role has been in overseeing all the operations and functions within the human service organization in order to ensure that all the people have been given the right care. This has been done in line with the health care policies which have been initiated by the government of the country over the years. Some managers and directors have been having the mandate of ensuring different operations have been competently addressed within the organization. As well, whenever the need arises, the issues of staffing have been given first hand address in order to promote smooth running of operations within the organization (Marmor, 2000). So as to effectively the goals and objectives and missions of the organization, management and general staffing here has been undertaken with a lot of seriousness since it is what guarantees the best of performance. With appropriate staffing and governance at Medicare it might not be possible to realize most of the missions and goals of the organization. Other areas of staffing and medical practitioners have as well been emphasized here in order to smooth down the service delivery operations and processes at Medicare (Bratton & Gold, 2001). Medicare Key Stakeholders and those that have Influence on the Organization Being a government pioneered program for the betterment of the health of the people of United States in general, the government definitely comes in first as a very important and yet very influential part of the stakeholders (Taylor, 2008). This has been the case due to the fact that the government is the body which did create it and the very time coming up with the major policies and protocols which appear to have better impacts and benefits on the organization. In short, the government has been coming up with the necessary policies which govern the operations which have to be undertaken within the organization. The government being a very important stakeholder here has been influencing the operations and decisions which have to be met within its functioning (Medicare Program, 2008). This has to be done in accordance with the rights which have been given to the citizens as well as the special needs of different people with different needs within the country. The other important body and a stakeholder has been the World Health Organization. For instance, all organizations which do address the issue of health the world have been having their operations and health care service provisions being mandated and under keen observation of the World Health Organization. Such an organization has hence been playing a major role in influencing the decisions which have to be made in the organization towards making sure the people have been provided with the necessary health care which is right for them (Sockett, 2005). The main aim of the WHO has thus been in making sure that the programs dispensed by the Medicare are capable to address the issue of health in general. Also, a number of insurance companies and financial institutions within the country have also been of great importance within the operations of the Medicare Program. This is so because such organizations have been having direct roles within the dispensation of the medical services to the people and especially with the aged (Parker, 2007). Different stakeholders of the Medicare Program have been able to influence most of the decisions arrived at in the organization as well as the operations which are done in the organization as well through inflictive decision making. Community collaborations and marketing and public relations strategies Being a service rendering organization in the hub of a very huge population, the community comes in as a very important tool which has to be dealt with in the best way if the missions and goals of the organization have to be realized. At Medicare Programs, there has been the need of making sure that there is the employment of proper public relations and strategies so as to meet the needs for all within the country (Leopold, 2001). This has been achieved through ensuring that all stakeholders from different playing grounds have been incorporated within the decisions being made and as well making sure that there is proper addressing of all the issues being raised by different players and stakeholders (Marmor, 2000). The general public and community which are served by the organization have also been considered to be very important if the goals of the organization are to be realized. Basically, all forms of external collaborations should be considered to be of a greater importance because they do allow the organization to realize the best results (Bratton & Gold, 2001). In that case, there has been the need of ensuring that all external community collaborations and associations have been done competently so that in the very end there is the realization of the goals. This is mainly by making sure that the people have been served right with the Medicare program in the country (Parker, 2007). Such collaborations are very necessary in making sure that the people have been given the necessary services. How does the organization demonstrate the valuing of diversity? In an organization like Medicare, beyond doubts it is very important that there is valuation of diversity if the goals have to be met. In the country, different issues have to be faced whenever addressing the issue of health and thus the dynamics and diversity are quite important since they do promote the realization of goals and provision of the best results and service delivery (Moon, 2006). At Medicare, different individuals are sourced from different backgrounds and levels of expertise to enhance diversity both in the general working place as well as in the management. Diversity has thus been a major tool which has been playing a very important role towards to the achievements which have been noted in the country. Generally, diversity has been seen as an integral element and approach towards better performance (Primer, 2007). Environmental Trends The current operations of Medicare program have currently been faced by a lot of political, economic, social, and technological hitches as well as promotions. For instance, the current Obama administration as part of the political move has come up with policies within the Health Care bill which is about to transform the operations within the Medicare in whole and Medicaid in giving better medical care (Moon, 2006). The advancement in technology has come in the right time in giving the best care to the Medicare operations for effective service delivery. Socio-economic impacts which have been facing the greatest part of the globe have also been experienced in the country and thus impacting on the organization’s operations (Leopold, 2001). However, through diversity and sourcing for proper resources, the managing agencies have slowly by slowly been coming up with moves which are about to address the problem. Conclusion Basically, the Medicare Program has been able to adopt a proper environment and effective integrations which have been aimed in provision of the best health care services through the influence and support of the stakeholders and other players. This has been done in a very competent manner in order to come up with better performances. In that case, the Medicare organization has been able to provide the best services to the people of the country for the years it has been on operation (Parker, 2007). Different management and staffing mechanisms have as well been noted to promote better performances and thus in the long run being able to provide the best service delivery.
