Exercise Wayback Machine Chicago Tribune http web.archive.org/web/20060424103436/http www.chicagotribune.com/ April 24, 2006The weather/temperature is on the right side of the title Chicago Tribune. There is significant advertisements in small hyper; links on left hand side. There is no space available on the left. The right side also has the paper’s own advertisements, with considerable white space available. The news pictures are smaller and dull. There is only a small space given to the top story.

Many hyperlink headings are right in the middle of the page, many of them are without any additional description under them. http://web.archive.org/web/20140217110443/http://www.chicagotribune.com/ February 17, 2014A wide rectangular image makes the top story. The top story column is a little more towards the left side than the center. The breaking news column takes central position. The right hand side column has windows, including a video. Despite so many news there is considerable white space on either sides of the webpage.

For this reason the page has a long scrolling length to reach the bottom. There are many hyperlinks and news stories written one under the other. The temperature reading is written towards the left with the heading of Chicago tribune. The bottom list looks ordinary, there is no specific font management of display style. The Huffington Posthttp://web.archive.org/web/20060301225118/http://www.huffingtonpost.com/March 1, 2006The political news makes the headline. An almost square picture is atop the news details.

The right hand side lists ‘Just in section’. Authors and columnists have their pictures and icons with stories and articles. There is a lot of white space. The whole page gives prominence to only three stories. http://web.archive.org/web/20130717233106/http://www.huffingtonpost.com/July 17, 2013Political news makes the headline again on the cover ‘page’. But the picture is wider and more colorful, more like a magazine. Picture is more expressive and matches the news article in an emotional way.

There are catchier advertisement titles and related pictures on the right hand side. There is a visible presence of social media buttons. The news articles show the number of comments posted underneath them as an indication of a hot topic. BBChttp://web.archive.org/web/20040715010456/http://www.bbc.co.uk/?okJuly 15, 2004The top stories have smaller pictures that are not even high definition. Very small text size and a lot of blank space on right side. The left hand side shows a blue column with hyperlinks to BBC’s subscription service.

The whole website interface looks very compact. There is hardly any advertisements on the front page. The experience is as if the user/reader needs to find the relevant news and any other interesting thing on their own. Nothing is handed out to the user. The colors are dull and it looks more like an ordinary webpage created by a startup. http://web.archive.org/web/20140125215251/http://www.bbc.com/Jan 25, 2014Effective use of multimedia is evident here. There is not one headline on the top, the pictures keep shuffling, making the news experience more vibrant.

The headline color is blue. Interactive arrows are given on either side of the main story to move the image to next story. There is comparatively less text and bigger pictures. The right hand column lists automobile and technology stories with pictures.
