Health Care Effect of Marijuana on Heath Marijuana have been on the limelight when health issues are concerned. The Massachusetts news had carried a research conducted by George Bierson on the effect of the drug on heath. The article that was published in the year 2000 described the drug as harmful as it causes brain damage. The drugs also weaken the procreative structure of the user. The research also gives the conclusion that the drug weakens the resistant structure of the user (Virginia Hopkins Test Kits). Apart from these effects, Bierson says that the drug user has a high probability of venturing into more hard drugs. The research conducted by Bierson appears to have a prior conclusion (Moore). The fact searching seems to be a fallacy of the research. There are some facts that the researcher fails to include in the research. His research fails the comparison that he should have made concerning the same research that was earlier done by another research. As a research, there are some facts that need to be drawn from the secondary sources to justify your findings. A comparison of the two findings may be used to show how the research reinforces the later findings. According to Bierson, he constructs a strong case about marijuana on the basis that it causes a physical harm. His argument is based on the test of monkeys’ health that led to result that it causes brain damage. This being one of his argument; he does not show why the monkey responded to the drug in such a way. The conclusion to this matter was discredited by researchers after discovering that the drugs administered to the monkeys contained high doses. The sample size used for the test was also small thereby giving the results that could have otherwise changed if the sample used was big. In scientific research, the accuracy of the research is based on the volume of the model. When the model is big, the result of the research is pronounced to be more accurate than when the model is small. Therefore, scientist doing the research in this section have discredited the findings. Another evidence that discredits Bierson’s findings is the recent medical research that shows that there are no facts of brain damage to Marijuana smokers. According to the American medical association, there is no correlation between marijuana and brain damages. The association is thereby advocating against the decriminalization of marijuana. The evidence from the American doctors builds a more strong case overshadowing Bierson’s findings. His argument that the use of marijuana drug may cause damage to the reproductive system as well as weaken the immune system also finds challenge of approval. The findings are discovered to rely on the test conducted to several mice. Other animals were also tested and responded in line that they were affected by the drug. The argument is, did any human being tested positive to his conclusion? No group of the human being that was tested and therefore the conclusion cannot be in line with the animals. Research have evidenced that marijuana does not affect the human reproductive structure nor the resistant system. Therefore, the findings ones more fail on the side of Bierson. Another finding of marijuana that have been brought forward by Bierson is that it is a doorway to other hard drugs. Bierson argues that the victims of other hard drugs must have started their hobby from marijuana. I discover the statement of the finding is false and ambiguous. The fact is that hard drug users may have a history of smoking marijuana. What I am against is the direct correlation between hard drugs and marijuana (Chu). He concludes by suggesting that in order to end the use of hard drugs we need discourage the use of marijuana. The fact is that there are some drug users that certainly not had a test of bhang. In fact, most abusers are graduates of tobacco and liquor and not marijuana (OND). According to research conducted by the government agency, most of the Americans have tested marijuana and did not proceed to other hard drugs but left the habit on their own. The report that over 80 million have tested the drug and 20 million becoming the usual users suggests that most of them prefers to leave the habit. If the marijuana rely on the gateway to hard drugs, the number could be as high as that of those who have once tested the drug. In Holland, marijuana was decriminalized as a cause of the procession to hard drugs. When the law was stopped, the number went down. The survey is essential in spotlighting the effect of marijuana in increasing the habit of hard drugs as suggested by Bierson. The fact from the finding in Holland shows that the prohibition of marijuana leads to increasing in the use of heroin and cocaine. However, the relaxation of laws against the use of marijuana reduced the use of hard drugs. While I disagree with Bierson’s finding on the health effects of marijuana, I will have to put a point across about its effects. The fact that marijuana is a drug, the usual and causal habit of the drug spearheads to addiction. The habit in itself can be categorised as a syndrome. There may reach a time that a person addicted by the drug may be required to leave the habit as instructed by the doctors. The patient may be instructed as so in order to respond well to medicines offered to treat a particular disease. Since the patient is addicted, he may fail to leave the habit thereby becoming affected by the disease to death. The uncontrolled use of marijuana may sometimes cause death. The drug behaves like any other medical drug that when used centrally to prescribed ways causes death. There is no way that determines the level of the marijuana necessary for the user. The drug, therefore, remains harmful to those who uses it. Those that are against the drug have solid details that the drug is harmful to there is no directives that can be issued to manage its use. Therefore, the drug remains dangerous to most of the people. The drug have caused many of controversies in different societies concerning the health and moral values of the users. The controversy in the society about the drug and its users revolves a body of people involved directly and indirectly to the drugs. The medical drug manufacturers are mostly against its legalisation since it may harm their business. They are opposed to the idea arguing that it leads to the occurrence of more diseases. The drug barons who are the wealthy members of the society claims that the drug does not have any effect of human health and proposes its legalisation. The battle between the two groups usually triggers the social values concerns. Those against it usually claims that the use of the drugs is immoral and is the cause of social disorders. They, therefore, don’t do comprehensive research such as the one done by Bierson and uses it to influence the lawmakers on their back. The government, therefore, takes measures to the drug users as well as the distributors. Given that the marijuana drug does not have a prescribed way for the use, it is harmful to the users who take it to overdose. Since there are no stakeholders who are ready to come and research on the correct use of the drug, I am on the advice that the use of the drug is stopped. I also encourage doctors to conduct research that will lead to the establishment of the proper dose that one can take and not be affected by the drug. Works Cited Chu, Yu-Wei Luke.
