The paper "Child Upbringing Issues" is a wonderful example of a research proposal on family and consumer studies. 
The purpose of this paper is to illustrate upbringing issues that need to be considered when children are being taken care of. This paper provides a study of upbringing issues that are of concern to parents when children are growing up. This is particularly applicable to children between the ages of 4 to 6 years who are under the care of their parents. These issues include overprotection, neglect, and negative methods of parenting. This paper provides an overview of ways in which methods of upbringing such as overprotection, neglect, and negative parenting have resulted in bad behavioral habits of children in later stages of life. For instance, the study tries to find the relationship between parenting style and level of association with colleagues at lay grounds. It also investigates the relationship between parenting style and academic achieving,

1. Research Questions

In order to achieve the overall objectives of this study, certain research questions were answered. These questions were useful in trying to obtain the relationship between issues related to upbringing affects their behavioral development. Some of the questions that were asked include the following:

  • What are the effects of overprotection, neglect and genitive parenting on the behavioral upbringing of a child?
  • Are children who are improperly brought up less likely to be successful in life compared to those who are brought up properly?
  1. Objectives of the Study

This study was also focused on achieving certain objectives. Some of the objectives that will be achieved include the following:

  • To determine upbringing issues that are of concern to parents when children are being brought up
  • To determine the effects of these upbringing issues on the development of a child in later stages of life.
  1. Scope of the research

The research will cover parenting methods used to bring up children between the ages of 4 to 6 years. This is because children within this age bracket are most likely to be affected by wrong parenting methods. Generally, children between the ages of 4 and 6 years depending on the decisions of their parents to enable them to do certain actions in life. Thus, there is concern among parents with regards to methods that can be used to bring up children well in the community. This is because children, who are overprotected, neglected or brought up on wrong principles usually, experience difficulties in later stages of life. It has been observed that children within this age bracket are either inclined to follow instructions from their parents or their teachers. Thus there is a need to ensure upbringing issues such as overprotection, neglect, and negative parenting are avoided to ensure children are encouraged to attain maximum level of accomplishment of their life objectives. Cases of these upbringing issues will be provided with consequences on the relationship with friends at home and school. Instances of these upbringing issues will be investigated in the areas of association with elders in society and teachers at school.

  1. Age Range for the Research

The research will focus on the age range of 4 to 6 years. This is because children between these age ranges are considered most under the care of their parents. Therefore, these parenting issues have direct effects on them. Their approach towards life is a function of these parenting habits. Thus there is the need to ensure these parenting concerns are addressed in order to avoid negative consequences associated with them.

  1. Topic Area covered by the research

This research will focus on the subject area of teaching by providing a guide to teachers and parents on methods they need to address in their children’s upbringing at school and at home. Parenting issues related to upbringing, neglect and negative parenting will be addressed at school and at home by following recommendations from this study.
